I love Brenda Joyce's books both her historical romances and contemporary romances, which there isn't a lot of but are very good none the less. Well today I will be writing about a contemporary romance that she wrote and I loved reading it because it was suspenseful, romantic and mystery. I bought the book because the description caught my attention and it kept my attention while I was reading the novel. Here are the description of the book from the back cover and a picture:

Kresley Cole is an another author that a friend of mine recommended. I went to her website and even joined her message board and when I read about her books I thought I should give them a try. I went in search of her first book and I found that her first two books were a series named the Sutherland Brothers. I bought them and I loved them, so I went in search for some more of her books. Well I bought more of her books but for today I will be describing her Immortals After Dark series, which there are 4 books in the series right now but a 5th book that is on the way and will be coming out on May 20th. I'm hooked to this series and I don't think I can see a future without more Immortals After Dark books. I have to say that I'm glad a friend pointed me to this series because I have to tell you these books are great. Well here is the interview with Kelley Nyrae that I promised to post. Kelley Nyrae was nice enough to grant me an interview about her writing. Even though she was busy with her writing she was nice enough to answer the following questions as soon as she could possibly get them done. Here is the link to the review of novel Getting Lucky with Luciano. Here is how the interview went:
Kelley: I’ve loved writing for as long as I can remember. I won my first writing contest in elementary school. It wasn’t until about three years ago that I even started reading romance. I became a stay at home mom for the first time and on a whim picked up my first romance. I haven’t stopped reading them ever sense. My old love of writing started coming to the surface again and I decided to give it a try. Once I began my first book I knew that I found my niche. I know it is what I’m supposed to do.
Phoebe: Did you know what type of romance you wanted to write about or did you experiment with different genres before you chose?
Kelley: I’m a contemporary girl at heart. I always knew I wanted to write contemporary romance. I’d like to try my hand at a vampire novel as well. I probably won’t be able to start it until next year though.
Phoebe: What was the first fiction you ever wrote?
Kelley: I wrote in high school. Most were children’s short stories.
Phoebe: How much research did you have to do for your novels especially for Getting Lucky with Luciano and did it take you a long time to gather that research?
Kelley: Not much research for Luciano. My husband is Italian so I asked his grandmother some questions. I interviewed someone who used to live in San Francisco since that’s where the book takes place.
Phoebe: What process did you have to go through to get your first book published and did it take you long?
Kelley: I actually pitched Luciano to the editor at Parker Publishing at a local event. She liked what I told her and requested the book. Once I sent it in they read the book and offered me a contract.
Phoebe: How did you feel when you finally saw your first published book out in print and how do you feel about your other novels being published?
Kelley: It’s all a great feeling no matter if it is print or eBook. Print is a different feeling because you’re actually holding the book in your hand. I got teary eyed and couldn’t stop looking at it.
Phoebe: Are you planning to write more books in the series Friday's at Luciano after the second book in the series named Unexpected Mr. Right comes out in January of 2009? Kelley: Yes. It’s a three book series. Unexpected Mr. Right is Tabby and Nico’s book. After that I plan to write Bri’s book as well but I haven’t had time to write it yet.

I loved reading this book and I recommend it to everyone. Catherine Anderson is a very talented writer and I love all of her books. This book was very emotional with romance and the characters were very interesting to read about because it was in a early period of American history. I love reading Katie MacAlister's books because she writes romance either contemporary, paranormal or historical and they have a way about it that makes me laugh when I read. Her books are always fun to read and I enjoy them. I really loved reading her hilarious scottish Men in Kilts novel because it was funny and romantic all in one, which I think is a good combination together. This book was one of the first that I ever bought of Katie MacAlister's and I loved reading it even though I'm not much into reading books in the first person. I absolutely love, love, LOVE Nora Roberts. I've been reading her books since my mom's friend gave me her daughter's old books and Nora Roberts' book Three Fates was in the mix with my first Catherine Coulter's Warrior Song. Public Secrets is a very suspenseful novel that kept me wanting more. I love that it's about a rock star with a family and how during the Woodstock age all of the rockers were on some type of drug. It is romantic too and I love that mixture of suspense and romance in a novel. I recommend this book for all romance readers and anyone who is not a romance reader read it anyway and you will become a true romance reader because it is that good. I stumbled upon Karin Tabke when I was at Barnes & Noble and the first book that I bought from her was a book named Skin. It caught my attention because it's just a one word title and when I read the description I knew I just had to buy it. I went to her website and saw that it was part of her Hot Cops series and I bought the first book she wrote called Good Girl Gone Bad, which as caught my attention by the description that I read. She has another book in the series coming out on June 17 called Jaded. Her Hot Cops series is just that, HOT! As for me...
This is not romance. There is - a bit - but it's not the focus of the story, and anyway you'll walk away feeling empty and heartbroken and just... sad for these kids who grow up with hope and getting nothing in return. This is a powerful, heartwrenching story about the future of humans and how far we'll go to be "healthy", how selfish and how barbarian we'll be - if this comes to be. And, honestly, I have no doubt we might come to that.
It's a philosophical essay disguised as fiction-telling, and I think that's what gives it so much more credence. Instead of just talking about medicinal cloning, Ishiguro goes right at the heart of the subject, showing what it'll do to humanity.
The title, based on a song in the book, goes right at the heart of this book. Why are we so selfish? Why don't we accept others? These people accept each other, why don't we accept them for being more than just medical benefits?
My sister lent this to me one day when I was staying with her, telling me I might like it. She was so right. I finished it in one evening - all 300-so pages of it in a few hours. And I think I cried a bit.

I believe this was Robards's first novel, and it is rough around the edges compared to some of her later stuff, but good nevertheless. I so did not see the end coming (the bad guy, I mean)! The last chapter is a bit cliché, but on a whole I can forgive it. Good end-of-year read :)

Readers may not find as much humor in this book as they are accustomed to in Krentz's (Grand Passion) work, but the author's trademark wit is still present, and her many fans will certainly not be disappointed. A well-written, enjoyable novel with something a little extra for fans of film noir (who are sure to note the Veronica Lake lookalike gracing the cover). Another winner from a favorite author.
Me...
This one didn't grab me quite as much as some of Krentz's other stuff. I'm guessing it was the film noir feel of the whole thing. I kept imagining the characters acting like in a cheap film noir. Not... what she was going for, I'm sure. Nevertheless, good read, and it was intense. I sure didn't see *her* as the femme fatale in the end...

Kelley Nyrae is another newly published romance author that actually found me through Lori Foster's message board and joined up my Romance Readers and Writers Forum. I found her link to her website and found that she was a romance author newly published and I found her book Getting Lucky with Luciano very interesting and it is book 1 of the Friday's at Luciano's series. I bought it online because it wasn't in any of the book stores near me and I thought that it was very interesting book and I can't wait to read more in her next book in the Friday’s at Luciano’s series. I thought that every woman in the world has had at least one or two fantasies about handmen, so when I found this erotic romance book titled Handyman I knew I just had to have it. Have any of you had your handyman fantasy fullfilled by that special man in your life? Do you ever wonder if what that handyman would look like and what you would do together when you are both alone? Kresley Cole is an another that a friend of mine recommended. I went to her website and even joined her message board and when I read about her books I thought I should give them a try. I went in search of her first book and I found that her first two books were a series named the Sutherland Brothers. I bought them and I loved them, so I went in search for some more of her books. Well I bought more of her books but for today I will be describing her Sutherland Brother series. I love historical romances and these two books were a real pleasure to read. I love novels about the sea because I always start to think of pirates and how that time must have been like. These books are worth reading and I recommend this series and author to everyone. Karen Marie Moning is another author that I stumbled upon on one of my many trips to Barnes & Noble looking for new authors and books. I first picked up her book Kiss of the Highlander and I loved it and so when I found out that is was book 4 in a series of books I went out and bought the first 3 books and devoured them. I have ever since been addicted to her books and I have been upset with the Fever series because the books aren't coming out fast enough for me, especially since they always end in cliffhangers. Veronica Wolff is a newly published author that I found out about through the J.R. Ward BDB Forum. I was looking through the member list searching for new websites and I stumbled upon Veronica Wolff's website. I went to her site and I found out that her first book was recently released in February and it was very similar to Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series. I decided to register to her website and I voted on her poll to either get a blog, message board, more historical content and more photos. I left a comment and she replied and was very nice and even joined my message board Romance Readers and Writers Forum. I stumbled upon the author named Sunny when I was at Barnes & Noble. I first bought her Monère series but when I found out that she had another series that she was starting that involved one character that made an appearance in the Monère series. I instantly knew I had to buy it so I checked out her website and found out the name and date that the book was going to come out. When it came out I bought it and was instantly in love with the characters and I was excited to find out that there would be a new book in the series, but I'd have to wait until 2009. Well at least I know that the series will continue and the title will be Lucinda, Deadly. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and a picture:

I love Julia Quinn's books, which I stumbled upon on when I was at Barnes & Nobles. I have all of her books except her novellas and I loved reading them. This book is a fairly recent book of hers that I enjoyed reading. Julia Quinn is a very good historical romance writer and I enjoy all of her books.
