So it's been almost 2 years since I last posted on the blog but it's been a crazy two years since I've gotten a permanent office job in downtown Manhattan. When I last posted was about two months after I bought my 15" MacBook Pro and I am still loving it much better than my Dell laptop that I bought a few months earlier than my MacBook Pro. I still use the Dell once in a while when I need to use the Adobe Acrobat program to make fill-out forms for work. My MacBook Pro has been such a great purchase even though I had to spend almost $2,000 for it. It took me a bit of time to get use to some of the changes from my PC but in the long run I have had almost no troubles with which is the total opposite of my experience with all three of my previous Dell laptops.

Recently I got a message on my Facebook Fan page from Lisa Watson who works with RT Book Reviews about doing author interviews on my Blog Talk Radio podcast show. I wasn't too sure about doing it since I haven't been doing any author interviews on my podcast except for that one author interview with Susan H. Crowley in July of 2013. But I decided that this was an opportunity that I shouldn't pass up since I really need to get back to what I use to love doing which is reading book that I would post reviews about and interviewing romance authors of all genres about the books that they write. So I think from now on I will try to get myself back into the rhythm of writing book reviews on the blog but like I said it has been a long while since I've done it so bare with me please. I've also been updating my websites with new information but as you know maintaining a website takes a lot of time and mine hasn't been updated since I started it in 2010. I've done a few maintenance updates with the information that I have since changed but I'm using some of my free time from work to get it all done.

So on Saturday, October 23rd my author website was reviewed by the website 1st Turning Point. I had submitted my website for review a few months ago when they started that section of their website and I finally got to read one of their reviewers feedback. I was excited to read it and see that the reviewer, Detra Fitch, gave me 4 Parrots in total with a lot of feedback on what she thought was good what she thought I needed to change a bit to make it better. Here is a quote from her review:

Phoebe Jordan’s website is very well done. It is professional and pleasing to the eyes. If her site is any example of how good her stories will be, then she has a bright future as an author!

If you want to read the entire review and maybe even leave a comment on what you thought of her review you can read it by clicking here!

Well as you may know I have a website called Phoebe Jordan's Reviews where I set up all the information that I want to share with my review blog readers and visitors about my author interviews and book reviews. Since I finally got my own domain name I set up Phoebe Jordan's Reviews on that domain name and have variously different important and informational pages up that you all might enjoy visiting. For example I have the Featured Author and Book pages that I have finally finished putting up for everyone to check out as soon as possible. There is the general Featured Author and Book where you will find 8 different featured authors and their current releases every month or so. I also have 4 different sub-pages for Featured Author and Book in Erotic Romance, Historical Romance, Paranormal Romance and Young Adult which are genres that I enjoy reading and wanted to share with others about the some authors that may or may not be new to them. If you are a romance of any sub-genre, erotic romance or young adult author and want to be featured along with your current release, Contact Me, with the appropriate information, which is your author bio and your current book title, author name, word count/page number, genre, publisher, format (print or e-book), ISBN/Price and blurb of your novel no less than 2 to 3 paragraphs.

Well I have finally thought that I should have an official website for Talk About My Favorite Authors blog so that my readers can check to see what is going on and what will be going on in the future for this blog. I created it by using google pages and linking up all the pages onto the main page, which I'm still working on because I've only been doing this for the past 4 to 5 days. I've posted the link on the top corner of the blog in the right sidebar so you can go to the site without having to read this post all the time. I've been getting a lot of ARC of books by authors that I love to review on this website and I've been getting a bit of books to review by new authors that I've only recently heard of. I've even had a couple of interviews with authors that I've recently met online this week. On the official website for TAMFA there you will get updated information on author interviews I conducted on the blog with links. You will get information on ARC books that I've reviewd and about ARC books that I will be reviewing in the coming months. I have also set up a forum for TAMFA blog that I thought would bring my readers together and discuss the blog and give me insight on what my loyal readers might be looking for when they come to the blog so I can mix things up. It's not completely set up yet but I'm working on it and I'm open for all suggestions. I hope you stop by and maybe use the contact page on the site to tell me what you think about the website, if I should keep it or not or if you have any suggestions on what I could do to make it better or anything else you have to say because all opinions are much appreciated.

Now that is a good way to start a Friday! I discovered this website/blog through Jessica Brody's website. I had recently won a signed copy of her book The Fidelity Files (which I will be reviewing on the blog sometime soon and get a interview with Brody too) and I went in search of her official website to learn more about her and her novel. Through her website I found out that she had recently created a wonderful website/blog called Free Book Friday. I love winning free books that this website immediately had my loyality to weekly visits and especially since Brody has a podcast interview of the authors she has on the website on iTunes. Recently Jessica Brody contacted me because she noticed that I was one of the followers of her website Free Book Friday and she checked out that my blog which she thought was awesome! She also wanted to send me the press release for Free Book Friday in hopes that I might post something on the blog and help spread the word! They're also giving away a Top Referrer bonus to the site that sends the the most hits (tracked by Google Analytics) so I immediately got to writing an e-mail back to her.
When I wrote to her back I asked her if she had any banner or badge/button art work that I could link up here on my blog and on my website so that my readers could be linked back to her website Free Book Friday. Brody told me she had something and would work on it a bit and send it back to me. So on the right side half way through the blog you will see a couple of badges/buttons and the Free Book Friday badge/button is the first one. Under it is the code that you can use to put that badge/button onto your on website or blog to spread the word to everyone. Here is the copy of the press release she sent me:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Debut Author Finds Success in Giving Away Books
Los Angeles, CA—October 26, 2008—Jessica Brody, author of The Fidelity Files (St. Martin’s Press—2008) was searching for creative new ways to market her debut novel and collaborate with fellow authors at the same time. She noticed that free giveaways seemed to be highly effective in driving website traffic so she came up with the idea for FreeBookFriday.com, a website that, true to its name, promotes authors by giving away free books every Friday. “I started the site just as a fun way to promote my book and network with other authors, but the response has been overwhelming,” says Brody, who after only six short weeks has seen weekly visitor growth rates in the 300 percent range. “We have already filled up the rest of 2008 with an outstanding list of participating authors and have started a wait list for 2009.” The initial draw to the site is clearly the giveaways, but the hook that keeps visitors coming back is the content. Not only can readers enter to win a free autographed book, but Brody also hosts a weekly author interview podcast to promote the featured author. “I love connecting with fellow authors every week. Not only does it help me with my writing, but it gives readers a unique insight into the creative process behind some of their favorite titles.” This week (October 26th) FBF is hosting a special Halloween Edition, featuring one of the reigning queens of vampire novels, P.C. Cast whose House of Night series has been on the NYT Bestseller list for 25 weeks straight and has more than one million copies in print. Website visitors can listen to an exclusive interview with P.C. and enter to win a free signed copy of her latest release, UNTAMED (St. Martin’s, 2008) “The response to UNTAMED has been so great, I decided to launch a spin-off of the main site specifically targeting teen readers,” says Brody, who is also working on a Romance Edition, scheduled to launch in early 2009. The new site, Free Book Friday Teens, will launch November 1, 2008.
* * * *
About Free Book Friday: The concept is simple. Each week, a new author is featured with an exclusive author interview podcast and a drawing to win free signed copies of his/her book. Website visitors are asked to sign up to be eligible and winners are chosen at random and posted on the site every Friday morning. Hence the name, "Free Book Friday!"

For more information, please visit: Free Book Friday or contact its founder, Jessica Brody at: info@freebookfriday.com

Well this past Monday on October 27 I was contacted by Kelly Sonora who told me that they just posted an article, "50 Best Chick Lit Blogs." She thought she'd bring it to my attention in case I thought my readers would find it interesting because this blog was on the list! I was part of the Romance Lit section and I was at the bottom of a list of some of my favorite romance blogs to read which was so exciting. I know I'm late in posting this but it has been one hectic month with mid-terms but I'm posting it now. Here is what they said next to my blog:

This aspiring writer posts about books, authors, and more in this blog with a focus on romance and fantasy. She also features guest blogs and interviews with authors here.

Oh my god I'm so honored and you can check out the blog post and see the other 49 best chick lit blogs on the list.

I saw over at one of my fave blogs, ~ Stacy's Place on Earth, that My Friend Amy is putting together a Book Blogger Appreciation Week and it sounded pretty cool so I thought I'd join in on the fun by visiting My Friend Amy's blog. When I read what it was all about it got me very interested and I think Amy came up with an amazing idea when she thought of Book Blogger Appreciation Week. Here are the details from Amy's blog below:
Book Bloggers: You work hard. You read books, you write reviews, you maintain relationships with your readers, publicists, and authors. You are constantly running to the post office to mail your giveaways and participating in carnivals to help boost traffic. You sometimes want to faint when you see the size of your TBR pile, but faithfully you read. And you do it because you love it. Book blogging is for most a hobby. But it's a hobby that takes a lot of work and time. It's a labor of love.
I've been blogging for three years but only really got into book blogging in the last year. I have found, without a doubt, that book bloggers are the kindest, most open minded, and supportive group of bloggers on the internet. With book blogging, it's about community and a love for the written word.
The Readers: We love you! You don't have a blog, but you read our reviews and share your thoughts with us. You enter our giveaways and click on our Amazon associates link. We do this for you and appreciate your readership. We hope you'll join in the fun and festivities of BBAW! (we'll have a special contest just for you!)
Book Blogger Appreciation Week: Acknowledging the hard work of book bloggers and their growing impact on book marketing and their essential contribution to book buzz in general, I am excited to announce the first Book Blogger Appreciation Week. Think of it as a retreat for book bloggers and a chance for us to totally nerd out over books together. And of course, shower each other with love and appreciation.
Register: In order to experience the maximum impact of the week, I invite you to register your participation (just like a retreat)!
To register, just send an email to bookbloggerappreciationweek @ gmail.com (without the spaces) with your blog url and what you consider your niche...i.e, general book blog, classics blog, personal blog with a healthy dose of books, YA books blog, etc. Then, add one of the two buttons at the bottom of this post to your sidebar. If you are a reader (no blog) just send an email announcing your plans to follow along.
Why bother? If you register, you will be added to a book blog directory which will exist long after this week is over. Additionally, you will receive one raffle entry into the daily giveaways during BBAW here at My Friend Amy.
Awards: Oh yes, there will be awards. The Oscars of Book Blogging. :) Nominations start next week.
Spread the Word: If you are excited about this idea like I am and the other book bloggers who are helping, please consider writing a post on your blog announcing this event and inviting other book bloggers and readers to join.
Help Wanted: If you have a talent for designing buttons (like those below) and would like to donate some of your time and skill to me, please email me personally at mypalamy @ gmail.com (without the spaces).

I recently joined up with this up and coming romance writers group called Romance Writers United, which I joined up because it was 1) for free and 2) it is a a group that can become something big and very useful for my writing career. It's pretty easy to join up and all you have to do if you have a website or blog is to put up this pretty cool banner on your website or blog after you send in the information they asked of you. Here is their mission statement that I got from their website:
Romance Writers United (RWU) is an organization for the development of a positive community, working from the philosophy of abundance as opposed to competition. Our mission is to help bridge the gap between writers of romantic fiction, agents and editors; to support, encourage and promote our authors in the pursuit of publication. By working together, we can make a difference.
Membership is open to all romance writers, both published and unpublished. Members participate in a spirit of creative cooperation, coming together to share knowledge, skills, and resources to promote and build careers as romance novelists.
They also have this pretty cool forum to chat and promote your self and you published, unpublished and work-in-progress work. The founder of the group even asked me to write up a column called The Voice of Romance, for the website about all the current and upcoming releases and current work-in-progress both by published and unpublished members of the group. I'll also be writing about any current or upcoming releases of others that I like to read personally. This is so exciting for me and I wanted to share it with everyone.

Well a friend of mine from Shelfari, Cindy, contacted me through my new contact form on the left. I really got to thinking about what she was asking me about and so I thought about posting about it. Well here is what she wrote to me:
I am really impressed with your website and wanted to know if you could share with me how you get snapshot, blogcounter, blog roll and some other ideas? Maybe a book you've read, a site or could even post a blog about blogging!
Well, Cindy I didn't read a book or a site or even a blog post about blogging. I found all these widgets through different websites that were using them and I mostly just googled the rest. Okay lets start with SnapShot, which I found out through LiveJournal and I thought it was pretty cool so I used it on my website and I liked it so much I thought about using it here on my blog. Well the blogcounter I found through google because I was looking for a free blog counter and I found it at Blog Patrol, it's a service that answers important questions about who is reading your blog. The counter portion of the service provides a free blog counter widget on your blog. The site stats portion of the service provides you with free blog stats reports to keep you up-to-date on every aspect of your readership. I got the newsletter from FeedBlitz and it's been pretty useful to me because anyone who signs up will recieve instantly an e-mail whenever I have posted a new blog post, but you can also use it as a newsletter for your website and write up your own. Well the contact me form is new and a very cool form for my readers to contact me. I got it free from this website called Email Me Form. Well the blog roll is from the Thursday Thirteen website and they made it buy creating an account on a website called BlogRolling. I got the scroll box from this website called MySpace Gens and here is the direct link to the scroll box.
Well that's all I have to say about my blog widgets and I've answered Cindy's question. But if there is anything that I missed or you have some cool widgets that you want to share to drop a comment because I would love to hear about it.

I have created Romance Readers and Writers Forum for the purpose of getting people who are of 18 years or over who love to read and write romance novels of any genre together and interact with each other and just having a good time with everyone on the forum.

It is a community where you can post about yourself and what’s going on with your life. About movies, TV shows and the books and authors that you love to read about. There is also an Arcade room where you can play some games like PacMan, Donkey Kong, Duck Hunt and much more. There is also a picture gallery where you can post pictures that you would like to share with the other members of the forum. There is also a Links room where you have a couple of places to place certain links that you would like to share with the other members. You can even add special events that you would like to share with the other members of the forum on the calendar in the forum. And also when you first visit the forum as a guest you won't be able to visit any of the other forums except one about the rules of the board, you will not be able to access the arcade, gallery or the links until you become a member.

Here is a Test account (for viewing purposes only. If someone abuses this test account I will be force to delete the account and no one will be able to test out a membership to this forum before they actually register)

Username: Viewer
Password: Viewer123

MODERATORS NEED!

Well I think it's obvious that this is a newly created Forum and so I need some people to sign up for the Moderator position so when I have to take some time off they will be watching over the Forum for me and making sure things are running smoothly. All you need to do is sign up and post here that you want to become a Moderator and I will PM you with some questions that you will need to answer and then I will decide how many moderators I will be choosing and who they are.

Thanks for joining and making this board a place that everyone can enjoy!

I found out from a friend (anixela) who has a FictionPress.com account that it's a place where you can write you stories and have other people write reviews about it. I think that this is going to be great for my writing and it will give me some practice on what people would think of my writing. I haven't written anything and I probably won't right now because I'm busy with school but probably over the summer I'll have some stories written and on my FictionPress account. Here is a link directly to my account and my pen name is PhoebeJordan. I also found out from the same friend who I found out about the FictionPress website that she also has a FanFiction.net account and that it's a place where you can write you stories and have other people write reviews about it. These stories are based on Books, TV shows and Movies.
