I love Brenda Joyce's books and this is one of her series that I stumbled upon when I was at Barnes & Nobles looking for new books to buy. The first book that I ever bought of Brenda Joyce was The Conqueror the first book in the de Warenne Dynasty series. I loved it so much that when I found out that there were more books of the delightful de Warenne family I just had to buy them. I loved reading all about the books of the beginning of the de Warenne family that started in 1069 and continued on to the present year in the series of the mid 1800. I have to say that I was very intrigued with this novel when I read it because it had some very intriguing characters that contect with the current de Warenne and O'Neil family. Brenda Joyce is such a talented writer and I have been a loyal fan since I found this novel at the bookstore and I've bought as many of her books as possible.
I love historical romances and I've read all types of them so it was a joy to read this novel for the first time. Torn from his Romany mother’s arms as a small boy, Viscount Emilian St. Xavier has spent a lifetime ignoring the whispers of gypsy that follows him everywhere. A nobleman with wealth, power and privilege, he does not care what the gadjos think. But when the Romany come to Derbyshire with news of his mother’s murder at the hands of a mob, his world implodes. And Ariella de Warenne is the perfect object for his lust and revenge. Ariella de Warenne’s heritage assures her a place in proper society, though as a radical and independent thinker she scorns her peers’ frivolous pursuits in the Ton, fashion and marriage. Until a Roma camp arrives at Rose Hill, and she finds herself drawn to their charismatic leader, Emilian. Even when he warns her away, threatening that he intends to seduce and destroy her, she cannot refuse him. For Ariella is just as determined to fight for their dangerous love.
I loved reading this novel because it is about the descendents of Rolfe and Ceidre de Warenne from the book The Conqueror. Ariella and Emilian have many issues in this novel that they have to get through in order to finally get together which is wonderful to read because Ariella and Emilian are such passionate characters. Again there is a the theme of fueding race in this novel that I've loved reading in the first three novels of this series centuries before. Now the English and the Gypsy are like mortal enemies but luckily not all of the English and Gypsy hate one another but there is bad blood between these two people. It is also what keeps the hero Emilian from truly accepting his love for the heroine Ariella and it was one emotional bump after another in their journey of love. I could hardly put the book down because it had me captivated from the first page with Emilian's very hard past experience with the English people such as his father and his family members.
Throughout the entire novel I was rooting for Ariella and Emilian to end happily with one another because they had to struggle through many heartaches to be with one another. I haven't been disappointed by any of her novels in this series or any of her other works and I don't think I ever will because they only get better with each book that comes out. I'm very anxious for the next book to come out in this wonderful series because there are a lot of characters in this novel that I really want to know more about especially the complicated marriage of Ariella's half-brother Alexi. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

A childhood trauma has left Lady Blanche Harrington incapable of all emotion, least of all love. Now circumstance demands she marry, and Blanch dreads choosing from her horde of fawning suitors. For one very eligible gentleman has not stepped forward. A war hero and a recluse, Rex de Warenne has long admired Lady Blanche. Though fate and his own dark nature have robbed him of any hope for a kind of future such a lady deserves, Rex is determined to aid her—and keep his feeling to himself. But when their growing friendship leads to a night of shocking passion, Blanche’s newfound memories threaten their fragile love…and Blanche’s very life.
I liked reading this novel because it is about the descendents of Rolfe and Ceidre de Warenne from the book The Conqueror. Blanche and Rex have many issues in this novel that they have to get through in order to finally get together which is wonderful to read because Blanche and Rex are such passionate characters. This novel was alright to read but I wasn't very happy with the heroine Blanche because she wasn't much of a passionate heroine character like the other heroine's in the previous novels. But I liked readint the interaction between Rex and Blanche because those were the times where Blanche started to show the passion that was hidden within her. Both Rex and Blanche had similar things that they had to go through that lead them to be the person that they became but it also made them such a perfect couple together. Throughout the entire novel I was rooting for Blanche and Rex to end happily with one another because they had to struggle through many heartaches to be with one another. Raised as a pirate’s daughter, Amanda Carre has not been tutored in the finer social graces. Alone in the world, she has never depended on anyone, until fate intervenes when Cliff de Warenne rescues her from a mob at her father’s hanging. Now she must set sail for England to find the mother she never knew, and her chaperone is an infamous ladies’ man. The greatest gentleman privateer of his era, Cliff knows honor demands that he see this beautiful wild child to London and into her socialite mother’s arms. He’s aware that Amanda is utterly unprepared for a debut in London’s ton, so his only recourse is to become her guardian and champion her transformation into a lady—and finds her a suitable match. But with every passing moment it becomes harder to deny his jealousy and ire—until Amanda makes her stunning debut, a lady at last. And when his passion is finally released, their love can no longer be denied.
I loved reading this novel because it is about the descendents of Rolfe and Ceidre de Warenne from the book The Conqueror. Amanda and Cliff have many issues in this novel that they have to get through in order to finally get together which is wonderful to read because Amanda and Cliff are such passionate characters. I loved reading this novel very much because the heroine Amanda is such a striking character that has been raised up wildy surrounded by rough and hard pirates who used adult language that no child should hear. Cliff is the type of man that Amanda needs because they both love the sea so much and they have similar qualities that they may never have found until they met. I loved this novel so much more because of Cliff's two illegitimate children Alexi and Ariella because they made the novel very interesting to read. The story behind their births and how Cliff came to raising them is so much apart of Cliff's character that it made the novel so much enjoyable to read. Throughout the entire novel I was rooting for Amanda and Cliff to end happily with one another because they had to struggle through many heartaches to be with one another. I love historical romances and I've read all types of them so it was a joy to read this novel for the first time. Sean O’Neill was once everything to Eleanor de Warenne—but since he disappeared from his ancestral home, there has been no word, and even Eleanor has abandoned hope, promising her hand to another. Then, just days before her wedding, Sean reappears…but the boy who was once her protector is now a stranger, hardened by prison and on the run. Weary and haunted, Sean is shocked to find that little Elle has become the beautiful, desirable Eleanor. Though he refuses to endanger her by pressing his claim, his resolve to stay away is sorely tested by the determination of a woman who will not be forsaken again. And when, in a moment’s passion, Sean steals another man’s bride, it is Eleanor who has the power to steal his heart.
I loved reading this novel because it is about the descendents of Rolfe and Ceidre de Warenne from the book The Conqueror and the descendents of Liam and Katherine O'Neil from the book The Game. It was also enjoyable because we read about the decendents of the de Warenne and O'Neil family again after centuries. Elle and Sean have many issues in this novel that they have to get through in order to finally get together which is wonderful to read because Elle and Sean are such passionate characters. I like novels where there is some interesting history between the hero, Sean, and heroine, Elle, because it is background into their lives when they were younger and seeing how they changed into the adults they are in the present. Especially because Elle and Sean are step-brother and step-sister who didn't exactly hit if off when they first met since Elle was only a small toddler at the time. Throughout the entire novel I was rooting for Elle and Sean to end happily with one another because they had to struggle through many heartaches to be with one another. I haven't been disappointed by any of her novels in this series or any of her other works and I don't think I ever will because they only get better with each book that comes out. On the evening of her first masquerade, shy Elizabeth Anne Fitzgerald is stunned by Tyrell de Warenne’s whispered suggestion of midnight rendezvous in the gardens. Lizzie has secretly worshiped the unattainable lord for years. When fortune takes a maddening turn, she is prevented from meeting Tyrell. But Lizzie cannot foresee that that night is only the beginning. Tyrell de Warenne is shocked when, two years later, Lizzie arrives on his doorstep with a child she claims is his. He remembers her will—and knows that he could not possibly the father. What is this game she is playing…and why? Is Elizabeth Anne Fitzgerald a woman of experience, of the gentle innocent she seems? But neither scandal, deception nor pride can thwart a love too passionate to be denied.

Released from the sanctuary of a convent, highborn, tempestuous Katherine FitzGerald sets sail for her beloved Ireland—only to find herself prisoner of the infamous pirate known as the Master of the Seas. The pirate captain is Liam O’Neill, favored by Elizabeth the Queen. A clever player both at the court and in the bedchamber, he is determined to win the willful Katherine while advancing his own secret causes. But now he must risk everything he cherishes in order to triumph at a very treacherous game through heartbreaking deception…and by breaking all the rules.
I loved reading this novel because pirates are so exciting to read about especially since this is an Irish pirate we are talking about. I love the Irish ever since I read my first romance novel by Nora Roberts called Three Fates, which was about three Irish siblings. In this novel I'm excited to finally get to met the couple who are the ancestors of the present O'Neil's which start in the next book The Prize. Liam and Katherine have many issues in this novel that they have to get through in order to finally get together which is wonderful to read because Liam and Katherine are such passionate characters. Brenda Joyce is such a talented writer and I have been a loyal fan since I found this novel at the bookstore and I've bought as many of her books as possible.
I love historical romances and I've read all types of them so it was a joy to read this novel for the first time. She is Mary, the beautiful daughter of the Scottish King—and an unwilling prisoner of the Norman invaders. The headstrong princess refuses to reveal her identity—even if it means sacrificing her virtue, but in the arms of a dangerous enemy she discovers a powerful passion and a powerful promise. Brave and battle-hardened Stephen de Warenne is prepared to defend to the death that which is his by right of conquest—including the golden-haired captive who awakens his soul’s most secret yearnings. For theirs is a passion that will not be denied—a magnificent fire that burns hotter and brighter than the blazing flames of war that engulf the land.
I loved reading this novel so much because it has so much drama and conflict between the hero, Stephen, and heroine, Mary, that you can see their passionate love for one another before the characters themselves know it. This reminded me a bit about Stephen's parents Rolfe and Ceidre's love story because they were both on different sides of a racial war and Mary's Scottish family hated the English. It was a bit nostalgic when I was reading it but it was also as or at times more passionate at times between Stephen and Mary because they are at a different time period then Rolfe and Ceidre. Throughout the entire novel I was rooting for Mary and Stephen to end happily with one another because they had to struggle through many heartaches to be with one another. I haven't been disappointed by any of her novels in this series or any of her other works and I don't think I ever will because they only get better with each book that comes out. I love historical romances and I've read all types of them so it was a joy to read this novel for the first time. Like a pagan god, Rolfe the Relentless rode into Castle Aelfgar to claim it as his prize—and Lady Alice as his bride. Rolfe de Warenne is lauded for his bravery in France and in England he was the hated enemy but once ensconced in his new domain, Rolfe became determined to tame the Saxon beauty Ceidre, Alice’s illegitimate sister, whose spirit and sensuality made him risk treason to have her—not Lady Alice—in his bed. Mysterious and seductive, Ceidre was no lady but a spy for the rebel cause of her noble half brothers and she is always refusing to bow to this arrogant warrior who ignited her forbidden passion. She was swept into a dangerous liaison tied to the fate of England and kings and yet with his kisses on her lips, his skillful hands on her body, she would have to struggle not to surrender to.
There were times in this novel where I would have loved to kill Ceidre's half-sister Lady Alice because she was so evil to Ceidre even though Ceidre was always kind to her. Rolfe and Ceidre had their issues because their people were mortal enemies but they got through all that ingrained hatred and fell in love with one another. Throughout the entire novel I was rooting for Rolfe and Ceidre to end happily with one another because they had to struggle through many heartaches to be with one another and the children they had together before they could legitimize them with marriage. I haven't been disappointed by any of her novels in this series or any of her other works and I don't think I ever will because they only get better with each book that comes out. I love Brenda Joyce's books and this is one of her series that I haven't heard of but I loved instantly when I finally got them. The books in this series were originally printed and published the the late 1980s but Brenda Joyce and her pulishers decided to reissue them now and here they are. They have new beautiful covers and everything but they are the same wonderful stories. Their are four books in this reissued series and this is the first book where the Bragg family started.
There is one novel in this series that comes between Violet Fire and The Fires of Paradise called Dark Fires that tell the oldest Bragg child Nicholas Bragg's story but it wasn't reissued like these four novels and it out of print. I was a little sad about it because I wanted to know the journey to love of all the Bragg children. Well enough of that and let me talk about The Fires of Paradise which is the story of Rathe Bragg's eldest child Lucy Bragg. She meets up with Shozkay Savage and they have a very interesting first meeting that is not what would you expect. Lucy and Shoz are in for one dangerous and painful journey in this novel because I swear it is one disastrous. Lucy and Shoz have a lot of heartache in the beginning of the novel and even in the middle when they are still finding their way to loving each other truely.
It was so nice to revisit with the Bragg family both the parents that started it all and the childrne that continued the Bragg family. This family has seen one disastrous journey to love after another but it was worth it to read about such a strong and loving family. Here is a little fun fact that I found on Brenda Joyce's website: The Bragg Saga continues in The Deadly Series with Rick Bragg and Calder Hart, whose father is Rathe Bragg from the novel Violet Fire and I wrote about this series if you want to know more. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
THE FIRES OF PARADISE $ 7.99 (Book 4)(437 Pages)
It was her first taste of true danger…
Heiress to the magnificent Bragg empire, lovely, headstrong socialite Lucy Bragg lives a life of opulence and privilege. But when she is abducted and held for ransom by Shozkay Savage, a dark and rugged outlaw, she is infuriated and frightened…and drawn to the strapping fugitive by a bold, unquenchable desire.
Sworn to escape him but betrayed by her own reckless passion, Lucy will follow her captor wherever he leads—braving scandal and heartbreak, risking life itself for an untamed and blistering love as perilous as it is forbidden.

Violet Fire is one very intriguing novel and it was very exciting to read. Rathe Bragg is the youngest of the Bragg family and he is the one who had the charm and luck to get what he wanted and not get in trouble because of it. In comes Grace O'Rourke the liberal woman who wants equality for all women and she isn't afraid to voice her opinions on how much she thinks men oppress woman. Rathe and Grace are completely total opposites but they are attracted to each other from the beginning even though they thought the other was either out of their minds or a complete pig. I have to say that the Bragg family just gets more interesting as I read from the beginning about the parents and their children. I have to say that Rathe and Grace's is story is just as exciting and dangerous as Storm and Brett's even though they all had their own personal issues and adventures to deal with.
I loved reading about Rathe and Grace because they really don't seem like a likely couple to end up happily in love with one another, but that just makes the novel so much more interesting. They have a unique adventure during a time period that I've always been fascinated with because it is during the time after the Civil War and civil rights for both women and Black people were being fought for in a time that is so similar in ways yet different from now. The Bragg family is so very fascinating and I love reading about all the family's adventures on how each one's journey to finding their life partners and the loves of their lives. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
VIOLET FIRE $ 7.99 (Book 3)(359 Pages)
Unpredictable…uncontrollable…irresistible…
A scion of the imperious Bragg family, golden-boy Rathe Bragg finds a society party all rather a yawn until a feisty beauty bursts into the room. The impassioned lady makes a startling first impression on those gathered, especially Rathe—and from that moment the sparks between them only intensifies.
Irrepressible Grace O’Rourke has enraged the entire town with her radical ideas, and soon infuriates Rathe with her lack of regard for any opinions other than her own. Yet though Grace warms to the virile gallant, his bold suggestion of becoming his mistress stings her pride. She firmly rejects his scandalous proposition, but telling a Bragg “no” is the ultimate stimulant. Now, Rathe can’t help but ardently pursue the lady whose eyes are ignited by a violet fire.

Innocent Fire started this amazing Bragg Saga but Firestorm continued this amazing series that I feel in love with. Well now Derek and Miranda are older and they have three wonderful children who are all growing up in such a loving family. Nicholas the oldest, Storm the middle child and Rathe the baby have grown up to be very resourceful like their father and have even trained in the Apache way because that too is apart their heritage. In this novel it is Storm who has some growing up to do and become the lady that her father Derek and her mother Miranda knows is in her. Of course she is going to have to go to Miranda's cousin who lives in San Francisco to become a lady dressing in elegant ball gowns and going to parties with polite society. When Storm arrives in San Francisco with her father Derek she meets Brett D’Archand who does business with her mother's cousin and their is an instant attraction between them.
Storm and Brett have a very fascinating and somewhat dangerous journey to falling in love and becoming a happy marriaged couple. Brett has family issues that may very well end his relationship with Storm because he has some very vindictive family members that really don't want to see him happily marriaged to a woman that his estranged father likes. Storm leads Brett on a very long and stressfull journey to find the happiness that both of them are looking for but don't realize they can have it until it is within their reach. Reading Storm and Brett's novel was amazing and I love the Bragg family because they have very strong personalities that they are lucky enough to find in their life partners. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
FIRESTORM $ 7.99 (Book 2)(344 Pages)
A whirlwind affair that would leave them breathless
Wild and untamed, Storm Bragg has always felt more at home with her horses than in the drawing rooms of polite society. But her family has decided that she must finally grow up, don an elegant ball gown that accentuates her uncommon beauty, and make her debut. Quickly pursued by every eligible gentleman in town, stubborn Storm has eyes for only one, and his no gentleman. Brett D’Archand is a self-made success: arrogant, impossibly attractive, blatantly sensual…and looking for a wife who will give him the respectability he craves.
Dangerously bewitched, Storm unleashes a passion that makes Brett lose his head as well as his heart. No threatened by scandal and ruin, they will be forced to wed—a tempestuous union of free spirits, shackled only by the irrepressible bonds of love.

They have new beautiful covers and everything but they are the same wonderful stories. Their are four books in this reissued series and this is the first book where the Bragg family started.
Innocent Fire is the beginning of the Bragg Dynasty and it is only the beginning of a very passionate and wonderful series of novels. Derek Bragg and Miranda have almost absolutely nothing in common except this attraction that they have for each other. This novel had many ups and downs that Derek and Miranda had to go through in their journey to finding love and happiness. Miranda had a very bad experience with her mother and father when she was a child that made her think of all men as beasts and shouldn't be trusted because they will hurt you. Also she was raised in a convent in France so she is very innocent to the male species and doesn't know much about them except for what the nuns have told her and her experience with her father. Derek Bragg is part white and part Apache and has had a life that is totally different from Miranda. He is knowledgeable in the Apache way and is very proud of his roots and doesn't care what others think even though he looks more white than Apache
This novel is very intense and very amazing that I really couldn't put it down unless I really had to. There were parts that really made me sad because I couldn't see that Miranda and Derek were hurting and I couldn't do anything about it. But the ending made up for everything because Miranda and Derek were able to have their happily ever after and they have children to look forward to to make up for all the sadness and danger that went through in their journey to find love and happiness. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
INNOCENT FIRE $ 7.99 (Book 1)(376 Pages)
Sheltered and naïve. Miranda leaves behind the only life she had ever known to marry a man she had never met. Her escort on this journey is her fiancé’s friend Derek Bragg, a rough, virile lawman whose harsh manner and candid comments about her beauty enrage her. She wishes more than anything to return home, her virtue and happiness intact.
Derek had no idea Miranda would take his frank appreciation of her considerable charms so harshly. Though he tries to deny his feelings, he knows he is falling hopelessly in love with her. And soon Miranda too begins to struggle with her desire for her protector—and wonder if she should sacrifice her innocence to the fire blazing out of control in her heart.

I love Brenda Joyce's books both her historical romances and contemporary romances, which there isn't a lot of but are very good none the less. Well today I will be writing about her Saint Georges Series. I bought the first book because the description caught my attention and it kept my attention while I was reading the novel. When I found out that there was another book after this I knew I had to get it because I knew it would be just as good as her first novel in the series. Here are the description of the books from the back covers and pictures:

Even marriage to a gentle, elderly knight and the title Lady Goodwin could not open closed doors, stop the cold stars, or hush the shadowy rumors of murder…
The Aristocrat
He was a man of the world. The rules of Victorian society did not interest him, nor could a gauche pretender with a Cockney accent possibly turn his head. Yet Theodore Blake, second son of the Earl of Harding, was immediately compelled to Violet—and soon found himself defending the vulnerable young widow in the face of a murder investigation. But wedding vows were the only way to save her from a certain hanging…

I love Brenda Joyce's books both her historical romances and contemporary romances, which there isn't a lot of but are very good none the less. Well today I will be writing about a contemporary romance that she wrote and I loved reading it because it was suspenseful, romantic and mystery. I bought the book because the description caught my attention and it kept my attention while I was reading the novel. Here are the description of the book from the back cover and a picture:

I love Brenda Joyce's books and this is one of her series that I stumbled upon when I was at Barnes & Nobles looking for new books to buy. The books in this series are about Francesca Cahill who lives in New York City in the early 1900s and Brenda Joyce has stopped writing the Francesca Cahill Deadly at 8 books and I don't know when or if she will continue writing this series. I loved reading all about the ridiculious situations that Francesca Cahill could get into so easily in these books and the love triangle that she's in the middle of just makes the series more interesting. Here are the description of the books from the back cover and their pictures:

And Francesca Cahill, a daughter of soiree’s host, stumbles across the ransom. Determined to help in any way she can, Francesca soon is involved in the high profile police investigation—while helplessly falling in love with New York City’s newly appointed police commissioner, the powerful and Rick Bragg.
Francesca and Bragg begin to search for the answers to a shocking crime. At stake is a little boy’s life. For Francesca is tempted to give in to the desire she and Rick have been resisting. Murder strikes once again in the seamy underbelly of New York’s high society, exposing scandalous secrets and unleashing an intense investigation into one of the most brutal crimes the city has ever known. Innocent women are being murdered and there seems to be a strange connection between them. Can Francesca unravel the clues or by doing so, will she place herself in grave jeopardy? Francesca must join forces with Rick Bragg, New York City’s Police Commissioner and the man she cannot resist loving, as their search takes them through a twisted labyrinth of menacing lies, corruption, and a passion that refuses to be denied…

To intensify matters, a Bragg family reunion is taking place in New York. And beautiful, willful Lucy Bragg is being stalked. As the stalking turns to threats, the threats turn to blackmail, and the blackmail turns to something entirely more nefarious than anyone can guess.
