I was lucky enough to have found such an amazing author through a blog called The Book Girl that I recently found through Book Blogger Appreciation Week. Marta Acosta is such an amazing author and I was happy that I found out about her on that blog when I was surfing through blogs. I was also lucky enough to get all of her novels personally autographed by Marta Acosta. I love paranormal novels and I thought that the comedy in the novels just made them so much more fun to read. Well let me get onto the review of the third novel in this wonderful Casa Dracula series, which is different from other novels because it's about a hispanic woman who I at times identify with because I'm also a hispanic woman.
The heroine of the novel and series is Milagro de Los Santos, which in english is translated to mean Miracle of the Saints, a latina Ivy league graduate who hasn't found her place in the world or a man to go with it in the first novel. In the second book of the Casa Dracula series Milagro is in a serious relationship with the man who gave her the "vampire" infection in the first place, Oswald Grant. She has a wonderful yet crazy relationship with Oswald's grandmother Edna, his cousin Sam, Sam's new wife and Oswald's ex-fiance Winnie and their new born baby girl. Now in the third and latest book of the Casa Dracula series Milagro is engaged to Oswald and has been fighting with the Council with lawyer Sam as her representative in order to get Milagro accepted into their community.
I'm not much for a first person novel because sometimes I wonder what is going on with the other charcters of the book during the novel when the main character is not with them. I have to say that this book is among one of the exceptions because even though at times I wanted to learn more of what is going on with the other charcters it didn't take anything away from the novel. I think that Marta Acosta has struck gold with this novel because it was hilarious to read and the paranormal element, the hispanic heroine and the suspense and danger made this third book in the series all the better as did the first and second book.
I have to say that Milagro does attract some crazy and strange people now that she is super strong, has super sight and hearing and can heal instantly from almost all types of wounds. I'm really loving Milagro's ex-lover Ian and I secretly hope that she will get together with him because I think that they have more chemistry than she and Oswald don't have. By the time I finished reading the third novel I knew I was hooked and I was sad about how things ended but it gives me hope to know that some time in the future Marta is going to finish writing the fourth book in the Casa Dracula series because I really need my Milagro fix. I need to know what happens between Milagro and Oswald, Milagro and her relationship with Edna, Sam, Winnie and baby Elizabeth and of course what happens between Milagro and sexy Ian. I really recommend this novel/series to all you paranoramal and comedy readers out there and also to anyone who loves to read a good book that makes you laugh with so much enjoyment to get this book and the rest of this series immediately. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

In this first book of the Casa Dracula series Milagro gets dragged into this very weird family of vampires, which Milagro never knew about until she was infected by the very sexy yet odd Oswald Grant who picked her up at a party for her ex-boyfriend Sebastien.
I'm not much for a first person novel because sometimes I wonder what is going on with the other charcters of the book during the novel when the main character is not with them. HAPPY HOUR AT CASA DRACULA $ 13.95 (Book 1)(314 Pages)
A dazzlingly original new voice in contemporary fiction, Marta Acosta bursts onto the literary scene with a wryly comic, vibrantly written novel about a young woman who finds her heart’s desire in the least likely places.
Happy Hour at Casa Dracula
Latina Ivy League grad Milagro de Los Santos can’t find her place in the world or a man to go with it. Then one night, at a book party for her pretentious ex-boyfriend, she meets an oddly attractive man. After she is bitten while kissing him, she falls ill and is squirreled away to his family’s estate to recover. Vampires don’t exist in this day and age—or do they? As Milagro falls for a fabulously inappropriate man, she finds herself caught between a family that has accepted her as one of its own and a powerful, clandestine organization that refuses to let the undead live and love in peace.
I love to read the Silhouette Special Edition line and Teresa Southwick is an author that I stumbled upon and I really liked. This book is the second book in a series called The Men of Mercy Hospital. I thought the novel was good and at times there were some spots where I just couldn't but it down. Since I finished reading the first novel in the series I was very excited about finding the second book and I knew that no matter what it was going to be a good read. I wasn't wrong because the heroine of the novel Samantha Ryan is one sharp and intelligent woman who is really going to help out the hero of the novel Dr. Mitch Tenney with his bad reputation as a very harsh and straight forward doctor. Mitch and Samantha don't seem like a likely couple because they have completely different personalities and interests.
Mitch and Samantha both have personal issues that are affecting their slowly growing relationship with one another and are preventing them both from going any further in their relationship. Then everything gets more complicated in their relationship when they have unprotected sex and Samantha gets pregnant. I think that this pregnancy pushes them both into thinking about where their relationship with one another is going because whatever they decide to do is going to affect their child one way or another. It is so fascinating to watch both Mitch and Samantha grow individually and together throughout the novel because in the end they both love one another and are meant to have a wonderful family with their unborn child. I can't wait to read the next book in the Men of Mercy Medical series because it only gets better and better with each novel. Here are the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
EXPECTING THE DOCTOR’S BABY $ 4.99 (Book 2)(217 Pages)

HIS BEDSIDE MANNER NEEDED WORK
Mitch Tenney’s reputation preceded him. He was a miracle worker in surgical scrubs, a hunk and a half with riveting blue eyes and a really bad attitude. The dazzling doctor had offended one official too many and was now this close to being fired—unless Samantha Ryan could set him straight.
…OR DID IT?
With Sam’s sunny disposition and powers of persuasion, she was sure she could get Dr. Mitch back on track. But somehow the brooding bachelor got to her instead—body and soul. Now Sam had a baby on the way with a man who had not interest in playing house. What was a good girl to do?

I thought the novel was good and at times there were some spots where I just couldn't but it down. The heroine Kate Carpenter is an E.R. nurse at Mercy Medical hospital and she is also the mother of a baby boy whose father doesn't know about him. The hero Joe Morgan is a helicopter pilot and on-duty marine who got Kate pregnant but didn't know about it because he had to leave on a marine mission before Kate found out about her pregnancy. When Joe comes back from his mission because he got seriously hurt and has nightmares from his tramatic experience he goes to Kate's apartment and finds out that he is the father of a healthy baby boy named JT. Kate and Joe have a lot of things to work out with one another because Joe wants to be a father to JT. They both need to learn more about one another if they want to raise a child together but they have issues that may cause them serious trouble. Well I love this novel and I really look forward to reading more about the Men of Mercy Medical because I know that there will be all interesting stories. Here are the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
WHEN A HERO COMES ALONG $ 4.99 (Book 1)(217 Pages)
THE RETURN OF THE FATHER
When Joe Morgan showed up again on Kate Carpenter’s doorstep, the E.R. nurse didn’t know what to think. After Kate had discovered she was pregnant, she’d waited to her from the helicopter pilot and on-duty marine. Nothing. So why would the man who had left without a second glance suddenly return to her life?
Joe wanted to be a father to J.T., and Kate wouldn’t stand in his way. She couldn’t know that during Joe’s harrowing tour of duty, thinking of his son—and of her—had kept him alive. But would the demons of the past prevent Joe from repairing the damage to Kate’s heart—and embracing his family for keeps?
I love the Harlequin American Romance line because it is always fun to read about all the romance that goes in differents states around America. Tanya Michaels is a new author to me but after reading this novel I know it's not going to be the last. I love novels with twins in them because they are always a handful and trouble some so they make such interesting characters in a novel. The heroine MacKenzie "Kenzie" Green is the mother of faternal twins Drew and Leslie and is divorced from her muscian of a husband Mick Green. Kenzie and her twins relocate to Atlanta, which is where her younger sister Ann with her husband and child also live, because she got a better paying job and a wonderful house to live in. The hero Jonathan Trelauney is her neighbor across the hall of her temporary apartment and he is a widowed painter who has been in a creative slump ever since he lost his wife and unborn child. I thought that Kenzie and Jonathan made a curious pair together but as I read further into the novel I saw that they both are compatiable with one another. I also thought that Kenzie's twins were such amazing characters that really brought out something special in both Kenzie and Jonathan and I loved the ending very much. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
A DAD FOR HER TWINS $ 4.99 (219 Pages)

New Job. New Home. New Dad?
When Kenzie Green relocates to Atlanta, she isn’t looking for a man to complete her family. Then she meets her enigmatic new neighbor across the hall. Jonathan Trelauney seems to know just how to handle Kenzie’s domestic handful. And her kids are already falling in love with the widowed artist.
Kenzie’s twin son and daughter are shattering his peace…and JT loves every minute of it! They’re slowly but surely bringing him out of his reclusive shell. Now he’d like to do the same for their independent single mom. Can JT make Kenzie see that he’s a man she can count on? That he can be the husband and father her family needs?

I love reading Nicole Jordan's historical romance books. Her Courtship Wars series is a fairly recent series that was so well received, Ballantine wants her to continue the Courtship Wars series for at least a while longer with maybe 3 more books added to the series. I can't wait for them to come out. Now it comes to the last and youngest Loring sister and I have to say she is the most wildest and independent of them all, but also the most stubborn one in letting herself falling in love. The heroine Lilian Loring believes that love is too risky to let herself feel and marriage is a hell that she will never let herself be trapped in. The hero Heath Griffin, the Marquess of Claybourne is Marcus and Drew's best friend and we have met him in the first book and see him sometimes in the second book. I thought as I was reading this novel that Heath and Lilian make such a wonderful couple and I could see them happily in love with one another.
Lilian is bent on never falling in love or getting married but Heath is going to do his best to change her mind because he may not know he's in love with her in the beginning but he wants her and only marriage will do. Their courtship is at times dangerous but they are exciting adventures that make Lilian and Heath's lives a bit exciting and help them towards finally understand their love for one another. I was a bit sad when I finally got to the ending of this book but I know in time Nicole Jordan will have finish writing about the wonderful secondary characters that we have read in all three Courtship Wars novels into a novel of their own for our enjoyment. I love her Courtship Wars series and recommend it to everyone who loves romance novels especially historical romances. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
TO SEDUCE A BRIDE $ 6.99 (Book 3)(409 Pages)

Seduction has never been more enticing than in this third novel of Nicole Jordan’s enthralling trilogy, The Courtship Wars.
Spirited beauty Lilian Loring believes that love is too risky a venture and that marriage is best avoided entirely—even if her unwanted suitor comes as deliciously packaged as Heath Griffin, the Marquess of Claybourne. The charismatic rogue has never met a woman who can discourage his advances, and after a show of resolve Lily too melts under Heath’s sensuous kisses. Perhaps that is why she decides to hide out in the last place gentleman would look for a lady: a house of scandalous repute.
In bold pursuit, Heath discovers his enchanting spitfire cheerfully instructing the demimonde in the art of deportment. Now the thrill of the chase is exceeded only by his powerful need to possess Lily as his bride. For Heath, victory in their game of passion means nothing less than winning Lily’s elusive heart….
I love reading Nicole Jordan's historical romance books. Her Courtship Wars series is a fairly recent series that was so well received, Ballantine wants her to continue the Courtship Wars series for at least a while longer with maybe 3 more books added to the series. I can't wait for them to come out. Well after I finished reading the first book I knew that the second book would be just as good and so I went into it already loving it. I wasn't disappointed because the heroine is the middle Loring sister and her name is Rosling the bookish and beautiful young lady that is hoping to find a love match with a good man, which she has already picked out. In comes the hero the dashing Duke of Arden, Drew Monerief who we met in the first novel as one of Marcus Pierce's best friends.
Rosling and Drew are very interesting charcters and a very interesting couple because Rosling believes in love and marrying only for love, while Drew doesn't believe love exists and that marrying is only for convinence and lust. Rosling doesn't think Drew is the man for her and only wants him to help her to get her neighbor to fall in love with her and get him to marry her. It was this scheme to learn how a mistress makes her lover fall in love with her that Drew and Rosling fell in love with one another. They have a fun yet at times dangerous courtship that I really thought was romantic because I could see the characters develop throughout the novel and learn to love. I love her Courtship Wars series and recommend it to everyone who loves romance novels especially historical romances. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
TO BED A BEAUTY $ 6.99 (Book 2)(442 Pages)

Nicole Jordan takes the delights of the Regency mating game to breathless new heights in this daring second novel of the superb new trilogy, The Courtship Wars.
Clever and charming Roslyn Loring, the middle child of three beautiful, independent sisters, knows that true happiness lies in a marriage of the heart—and she has hers set on a love-match with a neighboring earl. Yet her sharp mind has observed an undeniable truth: Gentlemen lavish passion on their mistresses, not their wives. Roslyn realizes that to win her future husband’s devotion, she must learn the secrets of kindling a gentleman’s ardor. Fortunately, she finds a willing tutor in Drew Monerief, the Duke of Arden, a notorious rake whispered to be London’s most magnificent lover. If his searing kisses are any indication, the duke is the ideal man to teach Roslyn how to be the perfect mistress.
Drew begins schooling Roslyn while coolly guarding his heart. But as best-laid plans are thwarted by unexpected events—including a night of unforgettable passion—Roslyn and her wickedly arousing tutor discover how easily lessons in pleasure can become lessons in love….

I love reading Nicole Jordan's historical romance books. Her Courtship Wars series is a fairly recent series that was so well received, Ballantine wants her to continue the Courtship Wars series for at least a while longer with maybe 3 more books added to the series. I can't wait for them to come out. But lets get back to the review of her first Courtship Wars novel that I really enjoyed reading. The heroine Arabella Loring is the oldest sister and her independent younger sisters don't want or need the hero Marcus Pierce's protection and guardianship. The hero Marcus Pierce has found himself guardian of 3 independent sisters who don't want him to give them dowries or arrange their marriages to men they don't know. When Marcus and Arabella first there is instant attraction between them that could set a forest on fire and it is the beginning of their love match relationship and the end to their bachelorhood and spinsterhood.
Arabella is very stubborn and doesn't want to get close to her guardian Marcus because she doesn't want to fall in love with another nobleman who can break her heart. Marcus wants Arabella but knows that the only way he can have her is to marry her but convincing Arabella to marry him is going to be very hard because she wants independence from his guardianship for both her and her sisters. So they make a bet with one another where if Arabella doesn't soften up and doesn't want to marry Marcus at the end of two weeks she and her sisters win their independence but if Marcus can woo her at the end of two weeks she will consent to wed and bed him as his wife. This was one interesting courtship that had many downs but it also had many ups that made everything so much more interesting. I love her Courtship Wars series and recommend it to everyone who loves romance novels especially historical romances. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
TO PLEASURE A LADY $ 6.99 (Book 1)(394 Pages)

Nicole Jordan spins a delectable tale to wit and exquisite sensuality in this mesmerizing Regency romance, the captivating first in a dazzling new trilogy, The Courtship Wars.
Marcus Pierce, a strikingly handsome aristocrat with a wicked reputation, inherits guardianship of Arabella Loring and her two younger sisters—and immediately declares his intention to marry them off. But gorgeously defiant Arabella sparks frustration—and something deeply erotic—in Marcus. After matching both wits and swords with her, Marcus concludes that this beautiful and formidable woman must be his.
Having sworn off marriage and men, Arabella wishes to be left alone to run her finishing school for young ladies. To that end, she boldly accepts Marcus’s intimate challenge: If he can woo and win her within two weeks, she’ll take her place in his bed as his wife. However, if she can resist his considerable charms, the Loring sisters will be granted their independence. Thus an extraordinary game of seduction begins….

I love Janet Chapman. I stumbled upon her books on a routine trip to Barnes & Noble that I take looking for new books to buy. She is an amazing Maine Romance Writer and I love her Highlander Series. I recommend for romance readers to pick up Janet Chapman's books especially her Highlander Series, which has magic and time travel involved. I enjoyed this novel very much because the heroine Megan MacKeage and the hero Jack Stone are such amazing and intriguing characters that have such opposite views on how things are done. Megan is one of the seven daughters of Grace and Grelyen MacKeage and she's five months pregnant with a broken heart. Jack Stone is the new Chief of Police and when Megan sees him for the first time he is the man she knew as Wayne Farris the father of her child and the man who broke her heart. In this novel you meet such amazing characters and sometimes that is hard to find in novels but luckily it hasn't happened to me often.

Megan and Jack are such strong and independent characters and it is such a pleasure reading about all the situations that they have to go through in order to finally realize they love one another and are meant for each other. Megan and Jack learn a lot about each other because even though they fell in love they never really knew one another as they will throughout this novel. In this novel you see other relationships develop and you also read about the MacKeage's from the previous two novels, such as Matt's younger brother Kenzie and a friend of his that has a small part in this novel. Megan and Jack have a very interesting courtship that made me fall in love with them and in fact made me want to read more about these time-traveling highlanders that were dropped in the 21st century to complete their destiny. At the end of this book I got the feeling that Matt's brother Kenzie Gregor will have his own story and maybe be part of a new series that Janet Chapman may have in the works. Here is the description of the books from the back cover and pictures:

SECRETS OF THE HIGHLANDER $ 6.99 (Book 6)(321 Pages)

He is the father of her child, but the secrets they are hiding are tearing them apart….
Megan MacKeage escaped the smothering protectiveness of the Highland MacKeage clan to work as a scientist on the Canadian tundra. Instead of the quiet scholar he posed as, he’s an aggressive private eye who’s willing to fight for what he wants, just like all the overbearing men in her clan. So why is Megan still feeling a dangerous attraction? And though Jack claims he followed her here because he loves her, can she ever trust a man with so many secrets?

Robbie is the son of highlander Michael MacBain and the guardian of the MacKeage and MacBain family. Libby is a doctor running away from her special healing abilities that she didn't intend to use on a patient of a collegue but did and is wanted to explain how the child miraculously saved the child. Michael is a highland warrior from the 1200 century who was dropped into the 21st century in a freak thunder storm with Grelyen MacKeage and 4 other MacKeages and 4 of his MacBain clansman. In this novel you meet such amazing characters and sometimes that is hard to find in novels but luckily it hasn't happened to me often.
Libby and Michael are such strong and independent characters and it is such a pleasure reading about all the situations that they have to go through in order to finally realize they love one another and are meant for each other. On top of that I love Michael's eight-year-old son Robbie MacBain, who in the first novel was just a new born baby. Robbie is a Guardian even though he is a child and it is wonderful to see that he takes his duty so seriously at such a young age. I also love that Robbie wants to see his father happy with Libby and has no bitterness that his mother is gone and that Libby might want to replace that spot in his heart. In this novel you see other relationships develope and you also read about the MacKeage's from the previous two novels. Libby and Michael have a very interesting courtship that made me fall in love with them and in fact made me want to read more about these time-traveling highlanders that were dropped in the 21st century to complete their destiny. Here is the description of the books from the back cover and pictures:

Wounded in love once before by a modern woman, Michael wants nothing to do with Libby, but he can’t resist the intense desire she stirs within him. Can this proud warrior pledge his heart to a woman whose secret threatens to change their lives forever?
I love Janet Chapman. I stumbled upon her books on a routine trip to Barnes & Noble that I take looking for new books to buy. She is an amazing Maine Romance Writer and I love her Highlander Series. I bought this second book in her Highlander series because I love highlanders and especially the time-traveling kind because they make very interesting novels. I enjoyed this novel very much because the heroine Sadie Quill and the hero Morgan MacKeage are such amazing and intriguing characters that have such opposite views on how things are done. Sadie is working to make the forest that Morgan has made his home into a park for a company that seems very shady. Morgan is a highland warrior from the 1200 century who was dropped into the 21st century in a freak thunder storm with his brother and other clan members and enemy clan. In this novel you meet such amazing characters and sometimes that is hard to find in novels but luckily it hasn't happened to me often.
Sadie and Morgan are such strong and independent characters and it is such a pleasure reading about all the situations that they have to go through in order to finally realize they love one another and are meant for each other. In this novel you see other relationships develope and you also read about Grace and Greylen again from the first novel. Sadie and Morgan have a very interesting courtship that made me fall in love with them and in fact made me want to read more about these time-traveling highlanders that were dropped in the 21st century to complete their destiny. I recommend for romance readers to pick up Janet Chapman's books especially her Highlander Series, which has magic and time travel involved. Here is the description of the books from the back cover and pictures:
LOVING THE HIGHLANDER $ 6.99 (Book 2)(375 Pages)

I love Janet Chapman and when I stumbled upon her books on one of my many trip to Barnes & Noble that I take looking for new books to buy I knew she would be good. She is an amazing Maine Romance Writer and I love her Highlander Series. I bought this book because I love highlanders and especially the time-traveling kind because they make very interesting novels. I enjoyed this novel very much because the heroine Grace Stutter and the hero Greylen MacKeage are such amazing and intriguing characters that have such opposite views on how things are done. Grace is a scientist while Greylen is a highland warrior from the 1200 century who was dropped into the 21st century in a freak thunder storm. In this novel you meet such amazing characters and sometimes that is hard to find in novels but luckily it hasn't happened to me often.
Grace and Greylen are destined to be with each other and have seven children with each other. That is why Greylen MacKeage was transported from his time to the future because his seventh child with Grace is going to be a very powerful druid. Grace and Greylen have a very interesting courtship that made me fall in love with them and in fact made me want to read more about these time-traveling highlanders that were dropped in the 21st century to complete their destiny. I recommend for romance readers to pick up Janet Chapman's books especially her Highlander Series, which has magic and time travel involved. Here is the description of the books from the back cover and pictures:
CHARMING THE HIGHLANDER $ 6.99 (Book 1)(359 Pages)
A feisty beauty tempted by a bold highlander’s touch…
When a plane crash strands brilliant scientist Grace Stutter on an icy mountaintop in Maine, she finds herself alone in the wilderness with the only other surviving passenger—Greylen MacKeage, a sexy, medieval warrior who’s been tossed through time to find the woman he’s destined to love. Forced together to survive the harsh, wintry landscape, neither expects the fierce passion that flares between them. But Grace is not used to letting her heart take control, and Greylen will settle for nothing less than her heart’s surrender….
Well I'm posting about Missy Lyons' newest release The Rapture to help out a fellow Diva who is really pregnant and isn't able to promote and chat as she would like to right now with this release. She can't sit at the computer for too long without bringing on the contractions so since I love all types of romance novels and I especially love to help authors promote their books I decided to help out and post about it today. This book is a prequel to her novel Dragon Heat, this is the story of how Isabella was born into this world.
The Rapture by Missy Lyons Price $2 September 2008 ISBN 978-1-60659-030-0 The lure of a demon lover is difficult to resist, and impossible to leave, because sex is highly addictive. Sex with a demon is known as the rapture, since it brings absolute pleasure so intense that it is almost painful. But is the price worth gambling your life and your freedom? Now available exclusively at Phaze Books. You can read more at Missy Lyon's website.
Well I love the IN DEATH series because they are a romantic suspense books set in the future. It started in 2058 but it has progressed to 2060 as the books grew in numbers, and for your information there is 26 books in the IN DEATH series so far and the 27th book comes out in November. The author of this series J.D. Robb started publishing these books in 1995 and since then we now know that J.D. Robb is Nora Roberts. I love Nora Roberts because she is such a talented romance writer and I enjoy all the books that I have read by her. This novel is a three-in-one of anthologies that J.D. Robb wrote when she was writing all the books in the series. I love Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her sexy Irish Billionaire husband Roarke because they are complete opposites but they are the perfect couple with such interesting characteristics.
These three short stories are just little romantic suspense stories that happen in between the novels in the series. They give more insight to Eve and Roarke's relationship and all the other important secondary characters that we know and love such as Detective Delia Peabody, Captian Ryan Feeney and Detective Ian MacNab. These are older stories that are at the beginning of the series but they are also very informing and exciting. I enjoyed reading them very much and I am very happy that I bought it because I never had a chance to read any of them when they came out in anthologies. Here is the description from the inside of her book and picture:
THREE IN DEATH $ 7.99 (355 Pages)
Interlude in Death
In early spring of 2059, Lieutenant Eve Dallas is called off planet to face a grueling ordeal-giving a seminar at the largest police conference of the year, to be held in a swanky resort. A resort which just happens to be owned by her husband, Roarke, of course. Even though Eve can't quite see it that way, it's supposed to be at least partly a vacation. But work intrudes in the form of a bloody homicide, and Eve is off and running. The case is complicated by Eve's personal history with the victim-and by the killer's history with Roarke. As danger closes in and the body count rises, Eve must find a way to stop the cycle of violence and revenge, and shove the past back where it belongs.
Midnight in Death
The number-one New York Times bestselling In Death series explodes with intrigue, passion, and suspense. Now, Nora Roberts, writing as J.D. Robb, propels you into the darkest night of Lieutenant Eve Dallas's life—when a killer comes to call. Eve's name has a made a Christmas list, but it's not for being naughty or nice. It's for putting a serial killer behind bars. Now the escaped madman has her in his sights. With her husband Roarke at her side, Eve must stop the man from exacting his bloody vengeance—or die trying…
Haunted in Death
Number Twelve is an urban legend in 2060 New York City. The hot club in the 1960s, it is now reported to be haunted...and cursed. Lieutenant Eve Dallas is called there to investigate the apparent murder of Radcliff Hopkins, its new owner and the grandson of the man who made Number Twelve a cultural icon. Several bullets from a banned gun end his dream of returning the building to its former glory. With everyone around her talking about the supernatural, pragmatic Eve won't let rumors of ghosts distract her from hard evidence. The case becomes even more bizarre when it appears to be linked to the suspicious disappearance of a rock star eighty-five years ago. As Eve searches for the connection, logic clashes with the unexplainable. She may be forced to face the threat of something more dangerous than a flesh-and-blood killer.

Kerrelyn Spark is an author that I stumbled upon on my trip to search for new books to buy at Barnes & Noble. I first picked up her second book in the series and I loved it so much that when I found out that there was a book before it I knew I had to get it. I actually had to search two bookstores to find the first book but I finally got it. Today I will be reviewing the fourth as so far the lastest book in the series but you are in luck because next month on Tuesday, October 28th the fifth book All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire is coming out. When I starting reading this book I had just finished reading the third book in the series so I was ready to enjoy reading more about all the good vamps I have come to love in this series. The heroine is Heather Westfield a mortal divorced mother of one daughter who is a school teacher but is really a fashion designer underneath. The hero is Jean-Luc Echarpe is the Western European vamp coven master and he is world famous fashion designer.
Heather and Jean-Luc have fashion designing in common and their attraction one another is going to get one of them killed. There is an assassin sent by Casime called Lui, who has been after Jean-Luc for hundreds of years, and he is back to coming after Jean-Luc and his current love, which is how Heather is thrown into this dangerous situation that bring her Jean-Luc together. Heather doesn't know about Jean-Luc being a vampire but she knows that he is keeping a secret from her because she never sees him during the day and only during the night does she get to spend time with him and his friends and employees. I loved reading all the drama that happened between Jean-Luc and Heather but I also loved that I got to read about how the rest of the vamps and their mates are doing from the previous novels in the series. The ending to this novel was very interesting and made me want the next book in the series to come out faster because I want to know what happens next to the good vamps and their love lives. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
THE UNDEAD NEXT DOOR $ 6.99 (Book 4)(369 Pages)

THREE SIGNS THAT SOMETHING IS VERY DIFFERENT WITH YOUR NEW MAN:

1. He sleeps all day…which would be annoying except he’s so attentive at night.

2. He’s attacked by sword-wielding assailants, yet insists he can handle it on his own.

3. He never seems to age.

Heather Westfield has always lived a quite life, but that all changes when she helps a very handsome, very mysterious stranger. There’s something not quite right about Jean-Luc, but still, she’s never been with a man so charming, so attractive…so wonderful. Now if only a murderous villain wasn’t after them, they might get their happily-ever-after.

Today I will be reviewing the third book in the series and one very interesting novel because there is a very sexy Scottish kilt wearing man as the hero. The heroine is Emma Wallace another member of the vamp "Stake-Out" CIA team with a high psychic power and who moonlights as a vampire slayer in Central Park, NYC. The hero is Angus MacKay a good vamp who is the British coven master and the owner of MacKay Security and Investigation which protects Roman, his family and all of his businesses.
Emma and Angus make an unlikely couple because she hates all vamps and he is a vamp. Angus has a very powerful attraction to Emma when they first meet and so does Emma to him even though she has a sneaking suspicion that Angus might actually be a vampire. Angus and Emma have a bumpy relationship because Emma has a past hurt that hasn't healed because she is so intent on seeking revenge. In time when they both are faced with a seriously dangerous situation they know that they may have already fallen in love with each other but they can't see any way they could be with each other. Angus and Emma are such strong characters and it was wonderful seeing them fall in love and give in to one another in the end. I also love the little happy surprise at the end because it just made me love this series that much more. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
BE STILL MY VAMPIRE HEART $ 5.99 (Book 3)(372 Pages)

One look at her was enough to stop his heart…
If it was beating. Angus MacKay has been undead for almost five hundred years and it’s not often something, or someone, surprises him. Until Emma Wallace. The sight of this luscious agent from the CIA’s elite Stake-Out team was enough to stop Angus in his tracks. But then he discovers that she’s a vampire slayer, intent on killing the “monsters” who killed her parents. And it’s Angus’s job to stop her.
The only good vampire is a dead vampire. It’s been Emma’s motto since she committed her life to the destruction of these things. Now Angus MacKay wants to convince her differently. Sure, he’s a sexy Highland warrior who seems to have stepped off the cover of a romance novel, complete with brogue, kilt, and sword, but he’s also one of them. And it’s her job to kill him.

Kerrelyn Spark is an author that I stumbled upon on my trip to search for new books to buy at Barnes and Noble. I first picked up her second book in the series, which I will be reviewing today, and I loved it so much that when I found out that there was a book before it I knew I had to get it. I actually had to search two bookstores to find the first book but I'm glad that I found it because it helped me understand some of the characters in this book. The good and bad vampires from the first book are back in this novel and it makes this a more interesting plot. The heroine is Darcy Newhart a vampire who was turned 4 years ago but longs to become human again. The hero is Austin Erickson a mortal with a very high psychic power and telekinesis who works for the vampire "Stake-Out" CIA team that is lead by Shanna's father Sean Whelan. This team wants to kill all the vamps because they think they are all evil and they don't believe that there are good and bad vamps out there.
Darcy was once a television reporter until she was attacked and mortally wounded by a Malcontent vamp and had to be turned by a good vamp, which happened to be Scottish hottie Connor who works for Roman and Angus. So now that Roman is married his harem has been kicked out of his home and are in need of a new master to take care of them. This leads Darcy to create a new reality TV show that will help her get a job in the television business where she belongs. Austin and another member of the CIA team go undercover and are two of the mortals on the show. This is one very interesting novel with many twists and turns that could rival a soap opera but with much more taste and class. I loved reading this book and I loved the ending because it was a bit unexpected but just the thing that makes the reader want to read about the other secondary characters that just pop out and call to your attention. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
VAMPS AND THE CITY $ 5.99 (Book 2)(387 Pages)
Who says a vamp can’t have it all?
Darcy Newhart thought it was a stroke of genius—the first-ever reality TV show where mortals vie with vampires for the title of The Sexiest Man on Earth. As the show’s director Darcy’s career would be on the track again. And she can finally have a life apart from the vampire harem. Okay, so she’s still technically dead, but two out of three’s not bad. Now she just has to make sure that a mortal doesn’t win. If only she wasn’t so distracted by a super-sexy and live contestant named Austin…
But Darcy doesn’t know the worst of it. Austin Erickson is actually a vampire slayer! And he’s got his eye on the show’s leggy blond director. Only problem is, he’s never wanted any woman—living or dead—as badly. But if he wins her heart, will he lose his soul? And if it means an eternity of hot, passionate loving with Darcy, does that really matter anyway?
Kerrelyn Spark is an author that I stumbled upon on my trip to search for new books to buy at Barnes & Noble. I first picked up her second book in the series and I loved it so much that when I found out that there was a book before it I knew I had to get it. I actually had to search two bookstores to find this book, which is the first in the series and the one I will be reviewing today. I love vampire romance novels because they are so fascinating to read about these paranormal creatures that may or may not really exist and each author has their own view on how vampires really are. The heroine is a mortal woman named Shanna Whelan who is a dentist in the witness protection from the Russian mafia. The hero is an over 400-year-old vampire named Roman Draganesti who is an ex-monk and scientist who created synthetic blood that saves human lives and feeds all the vampires around the world who decides to drink it.
Roman and Shanna are very interesting characters because they are hundred years of age apart and they have lead totally different lives. But the clincher is that Roman is a vampire who is dead during the day and Shanna is a mortal who has a bit of psychic powers and it wanted by the human Russian mafia and the bad Malcontent vampires. There is a lot of danger for them in their lives because of the Malcontent vampires also known as the "True Ones" are always after killing Roman who is the leader and protector of the good vampires. Beside Roman and Shanna there are also many secondary characters in this first book in the series who are also very intriguing and compelling characters that I know might one day have their own book. Here are description of the book from the back cover and picture:
HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE VAMPIRE $ 5.99 (Book 1)(371 Pages)
Nobody said love was perfect…
Roman Draganesti is charming, handsome, rich…he’s also a vampire. But this vampire just lost one of his fangs sinking his teeth into something he shouldn’t have. Now he has one night to find a dentist before his natural healing abilities close the wound, leaving him a lop-sided eater for all eternity.
Things aren’t going well for Shanna Whelan, either. After witnessing a gruesome murder, she’s next on the mob’s hit list. And her career as a dentist appears to be on a downward spiral because she’s afraid of blood. When Roman rescues her from an assassination attempt, she wonders if she’s found the one man who can keep her alive. Though the attraction between them is immediate and hot, can Shanna conquer her fear of blood fix Roman’s fang? And if she does, what will prevent Roman from using his fangs on her…?

I won this eBook Too Tempting by Karen Erickson in a contest almost a long while ago and I have been meaning to review it for a while now but I was a bit busy. Since starting classes I haven't had much time but today is the day that I finally have finished reading it and so I'm writing up my review now. The heroine of this book is Caroline Howard a divorced mother of two children and the hero is Kevin Travers the college graduate man fron next door. So it's the older woman and younger man who are attracted to each other but their is their age difference that is ruining their budding romantic relationship with each other. I saw from the beginning that they would have one big problem keeping them apart from each other and as the story continued I hoped and prayed that they would find a solution so they could be with each other. I really enjoyed this eBook and I'm a bit sad that it had to end but happy that they finally over came their age difference and all the other issues that were keeping them apart. I'm really glad that I won this eBook and I'm sure it won't be my last by Karen Erickson because she is one talented writer. Here is the link to BUY the eBook and here is the description of the book from Karen's website and picture:
Too Tempting by Karen Erickson $ 4.45 (106 Pages)

Kevin is home for a few months before relocating for a dream job. Too bad it’s not hisdream. No, his dreams involve something closer to home—and one of them is Caroline Howard. The sexy divorcée considers him a summer fling…which gives him three months to convince her he’s more than just the boy next door.

I love to read Harlequin Blaze series line because they are all blazing hot reads that make me want more. Tawny Weber is one of the authors that writes for this line that I really enjoy reading. I have two of her books that are also from this line and I really enjoyed them so it was a bit disappointing when I finally got this book and didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I had a bit of a hard time to get into the story but there were parts that I really enjoyed. I thought that both the heroine Delaney Conner and the hero Nick Angel where very interesting characters but I guess that the blog and the interaction between them wasn't to my liking sometimes. Here is the description of the book from the back cover, picture and a special widget that will give you an inside look on the book:
RISQUÉ BUSINESS $ 4.99 (217 Pages)
This is a challenge neither can refuse…
When professor/literary reviewer Delaney Conner wins a makeover, she’s suddenly getting lots of attention! Too bad it’s form bad boy—and very sexy—author Nick Angel, whose latest book Delaney shredded. Her main complaint? All of Nick’s sex scenes lack emotion. Where’s the passion? The feelings? But when she and Nick find themselves between the sheets, Delaney ends up feeling far more than she ever expected….
Nick finds Delaney frustrating and very, very attractive. But experience tells him it’s just skin-deep. So he challenges the seductive Delaney—either prove that love makes good sex great (her theory), or else admit that the world’s greatest sex is purely physical (his theory). No matter who wins, they’re going to have a deliciously decadent time proving each other wrong….

I love the Harlequin Blaze series line but this is their first historical romance and I'm glad that my favorite HB author Hope Tarr was able to be the first to write for their new line. I love historical romances and I have to say that for a short novel it is really great and I think that Harlequin has a very promising new line of books here. Hope Tarr writes amazing Blaze novels and she also writes historical romances too and putting them both together makes an excellent read. It's fifteenth century Scotland which is one of my favorite times in history and it is a tough period in time for women because they are considered inferior to the powerful men. The heroine Brianna MacLeod is the new laird of her clan but because she's a woman she needs to have a child in order to establish her position. Her plan is to demand the sexual services of her sworn—and very sexy—enemy, the hero Ewan Fraser.
He never saw it coming when Brianna had him kidnapped in order to get the child she needed to run her clan. Brianna and Ewan have some serious history together because when they were younger they both promised each other that they would someday marry each other but that never happened even though they both wanted it. There is danger in both their lives now because someone wants to be laird of Brianna's clan and will do anything to make that happen even murder her in cold blood. I love the sexual tension between Brianna and Ewan but I also can see the love that they have for each other even though they don't want to accept it because it might make them vulnerable to one another. I loved the way the novel ended because it was perfect and very satisfying and it also had a small promise of another book that is about Ewan's twin brother. I also have to say that I absolutely love the beautiful and sexy cover of this book. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
BOUND TO PLEASE $ 4.99 (217 Pages)
He’s not going to take this treatment lying down. At least, not for long…
Fifteenth-century Scotland is a tough place to be a woman in charge. Brianna MacLeod, new laird of her clan, needs a child to establish her position. And the best way to do that is to demand the sexual services of her sworn—and very sexy—enemy!
Ewan Fraser never foresaw being kidnapped, tied up and expected to perform stud service. Yet being bound for the delicious Brianna’s pleasure isn’t all bad. In fact, the more time he spends in her bed, the more he’s determined she’ll be the one who ends up enslaved….
