Highly recommended for literary merit and as an exceptional platform for the discussion of a controversial topic.
As for me...
This is not romance. There is - a bit - but it's not the focus of the story, and anyway you'll walk away feeling empty and heartbroken and just... sad for these kids who grow up with hope and getting nothing in return. This is a powerful, heartwrenching story about the future of humans and how far we'll go to be "healthy", how selfish and how barbarian we'll be - if this comes to be. And, honestly, I have no doubt we might come to that.
It's a philosophical essay disguised as fiction-telling, and I think that's what gives it so much more credence. Instead of just talking about medicinal cloning, Ishiguro goes right at the heart of the subject, showing what it'll do to humanity.
The title, based on a song in the book, goes right at the heart of this book. Why are we so selfish? Why don't we accept others? These people accept each other, why don't we accept them for being more than just medical benefits?
My sister lent this to me one day when I was staying with her, telling me I might like it. She was so right. I finished it in one evening - all 300-so pages of it in a few hours. And I think I cried a bit.

I believe this was Robards's first novel, and it is rough around the edges compared to some of her later stuff, but good nevertheless. I so did not see the end coming (the bad guy, I mean)! The last chapter is a bit cliché, but on a whole I can forgive it. Good end-of-year read :)

Threats, stalkers, double crossers, and an unknown femme fatale are the least of the problems Jack and Elizabeth face in this entertaining tale of romantic suspense. Readers may not find as much humor in this book as they are accustomed to in Krentz's (Grand Passion) work, but the author's trademark wit is still present, and her many fans will certainly not be disappointed. A well-written, enjoyable novel with something a little extra for fans of film noir (who are sure to note the Veronica Lake lookalike gracing the cover). Another winner from a favorite author.
Me...
This one didn't grab me quite as much as some of Krentz's other stuff. I'm guessing it was the film noir feel of the whole thing. I kept imagining the characters acting like in a cheap film noir. Not... what she was going for, I'm sure. Nevertheless, good read, and it was intense. I sure didn't see *her* as the femme fatale in the end...

Kelley Nyrae is another newly published romance author that actually found me through Lori Foster's message board and joined up my Romance Readers and Writers Forum. I found her link to her website and found that she was a romance author newly published and I found her book Getting Lucky with Luciano very interesting and it is book 1 of the Friday's at Luciano's series. I bought it online because it wasn't in any of the book stores near me and I thought that it was very interesting book and I can't wait to read more in her next book in the Friday’s at Luciano’s series. I thought that every woman in the world has had at least one or two fantasies about handmen, so when I found this erotic romance book titled Handyman I knew I just had to have it. Have any of you had your handyman fantasy fullfilled by that special man in your life? Do you ever wonder if what that handyman would look like and what you would do together when you are both alone? Kresley Cole is an another that a friend of mine recommended. I went to her website and even joined her message board and when I read about her books I thought I should give them a try. I went in search of her first book and I found that her first two books were a series named the Sutherland Brothers. I bought them and I loved them, so I went in search for some more of her books. Well I bought more of her books but for today I will be describing her Sutherland Brother series. I love historical romances and these two books were a real pleasure to read. I love novels about the sea because I always start to think of pirates and how that time must have been like. These books are worth reading and I recommend this series and author to everyone. Karen Marie Moning is another author that I stumbled upon on one of my many trips to Barnes & Noble looking for new authors and books. I first picked up her book Kiss of the Highlander and I loved it and so when I found out that is was book 4 in a series of books I went out and bought the first 3 books and devoured them. I have ever since been addicted to her books and I have been upset with the Fever series because the books aren't coming out fast enough for me, especially since they always end in cliffhangers. Well these highlanders are drool worthy and very manly, sexy men who get very strong and independent women from the future (our present). Here are the descriptions of the books and pictures:

Veronica Wolff is a newly published author that I found out about through the J.R. Ward BDB Forum. I was looking through the member list searching for new websites and I stumbled upon Veronica Wolff's website. I went to her site and I found out that her first book was recently released in February and it was very similar to Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series. I decided to register to her website and I voted on her poll to either get a blog, message board, more historical content and more photos. I left a comment and she replied and was very nice and even joined my message board Romance Readers and Writers Forum. I stumbled upon the author named Sunny when I was at Barnes & Noble. I first bought her Monère series but when I found out that she had another series that she was starting that involved one character that made an appearance in the Monère series. I instantly knew I had to buy it so I checked out her website and found out the name and date that the book was going to come out. When it came out I bought it and was instantly in love with the characters and I was excited to find out that there would be a new book in the series, but I'd have to wait until 2009. Well at least I know that the series will continue and the title will be Lucinda, Deadly. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and a picture:

I love Julia Quinn's books, which I stumbled upon on when I was at Barnes & Nobles. I have all of her books except her novellas and I loved reading them. This book is a fairly recent book of hers that I enjoyed reading. Julia Quinn is a very good historical romance writer and I enjoy all of her books.
