Talk About My Favorite Authors: Boneyard and Meeting Michelle Gagnon

Michelle Gagnon is an author that I stumbled upon through the book social network called Shelfari. She was in one of the romance groups that I joined and she posted a discussion about how she was having a contest where you could win a Kindle. That intrigued me enough that I went to her website and joined up for her newsletter and I saw she had one book published and another coming out in July. I read the description of her first Kelly Jones Thriller series and I knew that I would have to get it to give it a try. I mostly read romance novels but I like to dip into mystery, thrillers, sci-fi fantasy and I'm glad that I was right in buying this book.

Well on Wednesday I reviewed Michelle Gagnon's first book in her Kelly Jones Thriller series called The Tunnels and I mentioned that on Thursday I would be going to a reading and booksigning that Michelle would be having with a couple of other thriller writers. I took with me my aunt Juana and we went to Borders-Park Avenue and we had a great time. I got to meet a couple of new authors and I also got my aunt to buy 7 books and get them all autographed, two of those books included Michelle Gagnon's books. I took pictures with Michelle and another author at the booksigning, it was awesome! Well you know what was funny is that when Michelle finally got to there she stared at me a couple of times like she knew me from somewhere and couldn't place from where.

After the readings where all finished the booksigned began and I convinced my aunt to buy a couple of books because this would be the only time that she would get them personally signed to her. I waited until the place had only a couple of people before I went up to Michelle and introduced myself. When I said my name she immediately recognized me and told me that she kept looking at me because I looked like my photo but she wasn't sure because I was facing at a different angle. We laughed, talked for a bit and I introduces her to my aunt. I got my aunt to get her two books even though she didn't really want to at first but I said she couldn't take a picture with Michelle without buying and getting the books signed. Well enough about that lets get back to the review of her current release Boneyard.

I absolutely loved her new novel Boneyard because it is as good and even a bit better than her first book The Tunnels. I thought that in the first book Kelly Jones is a cool and controlled FBI agent who thinks about the victim and their families and trying to catch their killer, not just about closing the case and getting the credit. Well that is still true in the second novel and now that it is one year later for her she is faced with a new case that is more gruesome than her case in the tunnels. I was intrigued from the beginning because I was trying to work out along with Kelly on who the killer was and I hardly but the book down because I wanted to know what happens next. I thought that Michelle did a great job of writing this book because it kept my interest from the beginning to the end. There were parts of the novels where you read from the killers point of view and that really intrigued me and made me think of who might the killer be.

Now former FBI agent Jake Riley is someone that I thought was a real contrast to Kelly and made the interaction between them so much more fun to read, especially since they are somewhat of a couple in this novel. Well I loved the book and I really want to know when the next one comes out because that ending has me really intrigued about what happens between Kelly Jones and Jake Riley who have this hot and heavy thing going one in this book that I really want to know more about.
