Shadow Music

I loved reading this novel because I read about familiar characters such as the Laird Buchanan but I also love the new characters in this book. I thought that Princess Gabrielle of St. Biel's past ancestors mysterious treasure was very interesting and it had me also thinking of what happen to all the gold that the King of St. Biel had melted down. Throughout the book Gabrielle and Laird Colm MacHugh had a very difficult journey to go through in order to find their own happy ending but it was a fun journey to read. I loved reading this book and I have to say that the ending was something that I really didn't see coming but I really enjoyed it and wasn't disappointed. Ransom

Julie Garwood is one of many authors that I've stumbled upon on my many trips to Barnes and Noble. She writes both contemporary and historical romances but she is greatly known for her historcal romances because she's only written a couple of contemporaries. This book is a historcal romance that I really enjoyed reading because it had everything thing that I love in a historical romance. One it had a stubborn and dangerous highlander laird named Brodick Buchanan as the hero and a beautiful and stubborn English lady named Gillian as the heroine. Two it had a very interesting spin on how things ended for all the characters in the story that I would have never had guessed but enjoyed all the same. I have to say that this story is one of my favorites and the laird Buchanan is probably the ancestor of the Buchanan family in her contemporary romances. Shadow Dance

Since this book and series has already been described in detail, I thought about adding my own thoughts to the mix ;) Shadow Dance was the first of the Buchanan series I read (true to my nature I read the rest of series in disorder haha), and I fell totally in love with Garwood's contemporaries (Noah, especially. He's such a goofball *loves*). I later read a few of her historicals and didn't quite enjoy them as much as her contemporaries *shrugs* But that's personal preference. I know lots of people prefer her historicals over her contemps. But, I digress. So, here goes: This book is a romance and thriller at once. Add in some contemporary shake, and you've got Shadow Dance. I rather liked that the title is a play on Jordan's father's situation (bodyguards shadowing his every step) inadvertently happening to her when she finds the dead body of a historian she's met two days prior in the trunk of her car and her brother Nick and Noah Clayborne, two FBI agents, fly at her aid. Hence, being shadowed by bodyguards of sort. Then Nick has to leave, for matters unknown, and suddenly begins a dance of should-shouldn'ts with Noah even as they try to find the real murderer, who proves to be one heck of a surprise. This is a great read, and I found it refreshing, witty and intelligent and less tedious than some of her previous works. The writing is fast-paced, which makes sense as this is a thriller as well, and Jordan and Noah's relationship does not bloom quite as suddenly as has been said. Re-reading through it, you'll find that Noah unknowingly had feelings WAY before they even began *cough* dancing. Anyway, hopefully we'll get to read more about Jordan and Noah and their treasure hunt!

I love the Buchanan family and Julie Garwood has both good contemporary and historical romances. They are all stubborn and smart but they all have one adventurious and dangerous journey that leads them to their life parnters. So far there is 6 books published in the series. Created a Forum!

I just created a cool FORUM for my website yesterday! You know that there are some authors who have a forum where their readers can post about the books the authors written and where the members could post about themselves and post games and such. Well I decided to look for a place where I could get a FREE forum so I can do just like some of those authors. OMG I can't believe I actually made one and it's all thanks to my friend from the KMM forum known as MacKelterLover. I asked her advice on what she thought of me created this forum and she told me to go for it and I did. Now I just have to tell everyone I know what is going on so they can also join me in posting on this cool new forum. I can't wait to see how this whole thing will turn out. So whoever wants to join all you have to do is going to my website called Ivette's Place and click on the tab that says Ivette's Place Forum and there is the link that will lead you to the forum that I created. I have a lot of things that people can talk about such as themselves, writers and aspiring writers, movies, TV shows, books and authors, and so much more (I have special rooms for certain authors). So all I will say is ENJOY!

The Bride

Hi Ivette I love what you have done to the site. We do have a lot of the same reading material in common. I enjoy reading what you have to say about the books. I'm not one to go into a lot of detail but I remember certain lines from books or a term like J.R. Ward, "you feel me?" I like that line from The Bride by Julie Garwood. The one where Ale

c had told Jamie he would not touch her until she wore his plaid when they bedded down for the night he wrapped his plaid around her to keep her warm. She was drifting off to sleep when Alec spoke to her. "Jamie?" he said. "Yes Alec" she whispered against his ear. "You're wearing my plaid."

The Bride was THE first Romance novel I read. It was in 1984. I bought it at the Airport my DH (Dark Highlander a.k.a Husband or Boyfriend) and I were going to Jamaica for a belated Honeymoon. It's in bad shape but it has its own spot on the book shelf in my sitting/reading room...well I am going to read more of the blog so I'll catch ya later.
