I love Linda Lael Miller because she is a very good author and I love her Australian Series. I have almost all of her books and I can't wait to get any new books written by her. This series is one of her first series of her writing career and they have been reissued this year at the low price of $ 4.99 each. When I found out about these books I went out and bought them as soon as they were available. I reviewed the first book in this amazing and wonderful series and now I'm going to review the last book which will concluded the story of these two amazing Irish brothers. Shocked by the threat of being forced to marry an aging magistrate, Bliss Stafford flees her New Zealand home. But a chance encounter—and the barrel of her father’s pistol—wed her to Jamie McKenna, a handsome, headstrong rancher whose bold touch inflamed her innocent senses. Yet Jamie’s heart was captive to another—and to a hidden, bitter sorrow. But young, courageous Bliss is determined to face the secrets of his past—to claim the radiant prize of a lifetime of tomorrows.
This is one passionate romance novel that I had a hard time putting down because it was one series plot twist after another that kept me on my toes throughout the entire novel. I have always been fascinated with foreign countries and Austrialia is one of the top 10 on my list to someday travel to. I especially love this novel because it is a historical romance that is written by one of my favorite authors Linda Lael Miller, which is a wonderful combination. Bliss and Jamie are very passionate characters with very independant personalities that is sometimes very troublesome as their relationship develops. Jamie has a secret past that he doesn't share with Bliss even though they are married to one another and have fallen in love. Bliss nows that Jamie is keeping something from her and that this secret is going to be a dangerous threat to their very new marriage. Bliss is such a wonderfully refreshing character that I loved reading about and she is the perfect match to keep Jamie McKenna in line. When I finished this novel I was sad that this series had to end but I was glad that both McKenna brothers were happily married with wonderful women and wonderful children to be had. Here is the descriptions of the books from the back cover and pictures:
ANGELFIRE $ 4.99 (Book 2)(347 Pages)
The New Zealand wilderness is no place for an innocent young girl escaping an arranged marriage….

Passion, heartache, and the power of romance set New Zealand aflame with Angelfire in Linda Lael Miller’s lush tale of a young woman audacious enough to settle for nothing less than love.

But Reeve cannot be hers alone, for he is obsessed by his search for his beloved brother James, lost two decades before. Reeve’s fierce hunger for the Yankee beauty is not yet love, and Maggie wants both the breathless pleasure of his passion and the full surrender of his heart—or nothing at all.

One of America’s most romantic writers, Linda Lael Miller brings the white-hot passion of Moonfire to the Australian frontier country in this sensuous story of two lovers bound by desire.

I love Linda Lael Miller and I have to say that her historical romances are one of the best that I've ever read. The Mojo Sheepshanks Books series is a contemporary romance and I love them and I have to say that she is also a good contemporary romance writer. Mojo Sheepshanks has an unusual name and sees the ghost of her dead ex-husband and all the while is trying to figure out about her real identity. In the last novel Mojo was getting a bit use to seeing ghosts especially since her ex-husband's ghost helped her get through a difficult part of her past that came to bit her in the a$$. Mojo is trying to enjoy her posh new home, but she’d rather be back living over Bad-Ass Bert’s Biker Saloon, where life was simpler. Her sexy cop boyfriend can’t let go of his past, while her wealthy sister is being blackmailed for secrets in hers. And Mojo’s smack in the middle of it all. As murders pile up, Mojo is starting to uncover secrets that even the dead don’t want disturbed. This book also ended with a cliff hanger that I would love to know more about but that won't be happening until Miller writes the next Mojo book which could be a long while. But besides that I loved reading this book because it was one killer adventure after another with a bit of humor and hot love scenes thrown in. This is one series you have to get because it is too good for you to miss out on it. Here is the descriptions of the books from the back cover and pictures:
DEADLY DECEPTIONS $ 7.99 (Book 2)(379 Pages)

I love Linda Lael Miller and I have to say that her historical romances are one of the best that I've ever read. The Mojo Sheepshanks Books series is a contemporary romance and I love them and I have to say that she is also a good contemporary romance writer. Mojo Sheepshanks has an unusual name and sees the ghost of her dead ex-husband and all the while is trying to figure out about her real identity. I have bought almost every Linda Lael Miller novel I could get my hands on because she is one amazing romance author that I have loved reading. I also love to read paranormal romances and even though this isn't technically categorized as one it has a paranormal element because the heroine Mojo Sheepshanks can see ghosts. It was interesting to read because I've read similar novels but the person would usually be able to see and talk to ghosts all of their lives but no Mojo. She only after the death of her ex-husband starts to see his ghost and that is a twist that really caught my attention and also her name was an attention grabber from the first time I heard about this book.
She's got an uncanny knack for winning at slots, but her home-sweet-home is Bad-Ass Bert’s Biker Saloon. She’d love to go deep undercover with an irresistibly hot cop, but he’s got baggage as big as his biceps. She’s survived a mysterious tragedy, but Mojo Sheepshanks hasn’t quite figured out who she really is or how to get on with her life. And now the wisecracking Mojo is seeing ghosts—the real, ectoplasmic kind—and turning up baffling clues to her real identity. Suddenly a wealthy man is claiming to be her long-lost uncle…and she’s being shadowed by an ex-con brother with a talent for killer mind games. As Mojo races to finally uncover the facts, she’ll need all her savvy and strange new talent to keep someone from burying her—and the truth—for keeps. Reading this novel the first time was great and reading it the second time was better because I read with a more critical mind and saw that there were things that didn't catch my attention until the second read. The end was a bit of cliff hanger that I'm not always very fond of but it at least caught my attention and told me that Miller was going to write more about Mojo and all the wonderful characters that I read about in this book. I was very excitied when I found out about the next book in the series Deadly Deceptions and I couldn't wait to find out about Mojo's next adventure and her relationhip with her very hot cop. Here is the descriptions of the books from the back cover and pictures:
DEADLY GAMBLE $ 13.95 (Book 1)(409 Pages)(also in mass market paperback for $ 7.99)

I absolutely love Linda Lael Miller and her historical and contemporary romances. I like her historicals a bit more than her contemporary romances. This book is one of many that I have bought of hers and I absolutely loved it. I like the time period that she wrote in because it has always fascinated me when I would have my history classes about the American life during the 1800's and 1900's. The heroine of this novel is Willow Gallagher and the hero is Gideon Marshall and boy do they make a wonderful and exciting pair together. Willow and Gideon were tricked into marriage in New York City by Gideon's older brother but they didn't know they were really married because they were only playing around. But soon after Willow leaves to go home does Gideon find out that their marriage is real but hasn't been consummated as of yet and can be annuled if wished. Beside Willow and Gideon there are secondary characters that I loved reading more about in this novel. Willow's older outlaw brother Steven Gallagher is such a fascinating character along with his father Devlin Gallagher who is such a complex man that has loved three women throughout his life and has lost two. There is also Gideon's fiance who comes to town and makes this story all that much more exciting and very enjoyable. I would recommend this book to everyone because it is a really enjoyable book to read when you have the time to settle down with a good book. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
WILLOW $ 7.99 (309 Pages)
Beautiful and resilient, Willow would choose which way love would steer her heart….
Montana was a wide-open, lawless land when the golden-haired Willow married Gideon—a railroad magnate turned U.S. Marshal. Their union was tempestuous and passionate, a mating of two fiery, strong-willed souls destined for each other. But Willow’s love for her husband was matched by her devotion to her outlaw brother, a renegade pursued by a man sworn to hunt him down—Gideon! Willow had to choose…she could betray her own kin, or risk everything—even the love she had dreamed of all her life—to save him.

I love Linda Lael Miller's western historical novels so much. I stumbled upon some of her books at Barnes and Noble because her books are always displayed and they are hard to miss. Since I've first discovered her novels I've tried to get as many of her wonderful books as possible. She also writes contemporary romances but I like her historicals more. I especially like her McKettrick series because it starts in the 1800's but the series continues for a couple more generations until it's in the present. You see how the ancesters of the present McKettrick have influenced the whole family line and that is so wonderful the read. I read the series a bit out of line last year but I finally got all the books in the series and have started reading it all from the beginning. The series has 9 novels so far and I think there are going to be more in this series because there are a lot of McKettricks. So I guess you've noticed that this week I've been reading all the books in the McKettrick series and what a series it is.
The McKettrick Way is the ninth book in the series and continues the story of the stubborn and hardheaded McKettrick family. We are now in the present and we are seeing the children of the children of the first McKettrick men, Angus, Holt, Rafe, Kade and Jeb. This book is about Meg McKettrick who is from the Holt McKettrick line. We met Meg McKettrick in Sierra's Homecoming because she is Sierra McKettrick's older sister and well this is her story. I really loved this book and I have to say that it is my favorite of all the books in the series. I thought that Brad O'Ballivan is the perfect match for Meg because besides have a past romantic affair they seemed to compliment each other well. I thought that it was cool that the O'Ballivan family line was strong in the present because I love the Stone Creek Series (I'll be writing about this series soon). They had to go through a lot to finally find the love that they share is something wonderful and that made the novel some much more exciting to read. This is such a wonderful novel because I can still see the McKettrick and O'Ballivan from the past influencing the McKettrick and O'Ballivan of the present and it just makes me compare how the present McKettrick's and O'Ballivan's are just like there ancestors. This book is such a good read that I finished it up in 5 hours and it made me want more. I also think that the McKettrick men pick out very strong willed women to marry and they keep these McKettrick men on their toes and it goes vice versa for the McKettrick women. The end of this book hinted that there would be more McKettrick books to come and even a new series about an extended family of the McKettrick family line. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
THE McKETTRICK WAY $ 4.99 (Book 9)(248 Pages)

McKettrick's Heart is the eigth book in the series and continues the story of the stubborn and hardheaded McKettrick family. We are now in the present and we are seeing the children of the children of the first McKettrick men, Angus, Holt, Rafe, Kade and Jeb. This book is about Keegan McKettrick who is from the Kade McKettrick line. Reading about these Keegan and Molly reminded me a bit of Kade and Mandy. Keegen is so much link his ancestor Kade that it is so wonderful to read. I like Molly because she seems to be a woman that isn't really for Keegan at first but when you get into the novel you see that they are totally meant to be. They had to go through a lot to finally find the love that they share is something wonderful and that made the novel some much more exciting to read. This is such a wonderful novel because I can still see the McKettrick from the past influencing the McKettrick of the present and it just makes me compare how the present McKettrick's are just like there ancestors. This book is such a good read that I finished it up in one day and I instantly picked up the ninth book in the series wanting to read more about these fascinating McKettrick men and women and the trouble they get into. I also think that the McKettrick men pick out very strong willed women to marry and they keep these McKettrick men on their toes and it goes vice versa. This book is about Jesse McKettrick who is from the Jeb McKettrick line and who was also introduced in the sixth book Sierra's Homecoming. Reading about these Jesse and Cheyenne reminded me a bit of Chloe and Jeb. Jesse is so much link his ancestor Jeb that it is so wonderful to read. Sierra's Homecoming is the fifth book in the series and continues the story of the stubborn and hardheaded McKettrick family. We are now in the present and we are seeing the children of the children of the first McKettrick men, Angus, Holt, Rafe, Kade and Jeb. This book is sort of a two-in-one novel because it starts out with a story about Sierra McKettrick in the present, 2007, and then you read about Hannah McKettrick who is in the past, 1919. Reading about these two women from both the past and present shows how no matter what century you live in love is a sweet yet complicated emotion. This is such a wonderful novel because I can still see the McKettrick from the past influencing the McKettrick of the present and it just makes me compare how the present McKettrick's are just like there ancestors. McKettrick's Choice is the fourth book in the series and continues the story of the stubborn, hardheaded and very manly McKettrick men. This book is Holt McKettrick's story and it is one fascinating tale to read because it is one problem after another, which makes the novel so much more interesting to read. In this book we meet other interesting characters that make the lives the the McKettrick men so much more interesting. Holt's family before he came to McKettrick lands are in trouble and he needs to go back to help them. In the first novel you found out that Angus McKettrick is feeling old and wants his wild sons to settle down and give him grandchildren. So he has come up with a contest which says that the first son to get married and give him a grandchild will have control over the ranch when he has seen fit to retire. This causes a big rift between the brothers that causes them to run in search of wives. Rafe is married to Emmeline and have a lovely baby girl as does Kade and Mandy and Jeb and Chloe. Now it's Holt's turn to find his lady love who is going to put up a hell of a fight just like the other McKettrick women.
In comes the stubborn Lorelei Fellows who has been neglected all her life by her father because she wasn't her dead brother. Holt and Lorelei do not rub each other the right way throughout the book but you know they will end up together sooner or later. This book is such a good read that I finished it up in one day and I instantly picked up the fifth book in the series wanting to read more about these fascinating McKettrick men and women and the trouble they get into. I also think that the McKettrick men pick out very strong willed women to marry and they keep these McKettrick men on their toes. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

When news came that there was trouble back in Texas…Holt McKettrick left a mail-order bride and his family on the spot!
And he never looked back. He just prayed he’d be in time to save the man who had raised him as a son and keep his best friend from the gallows. He knew he’d encounter rustlers, scoundrels and thieves. But he’d never expected to find a woman like Lorelei Fellows.
Setting fire to her wedding dress in the town square probably wasn’t the best way to stand her ground.
But Lorelei had had enough. She was sick of men and their schemes. All she wanted was to stake her claim on her own little piece of Texas. And with Holt McKettrick as a neighbor, things were beginning to look up. The man was a straight shooter with a strong will, a steady aim and a hungry heart.

Today's Thursday Thirteen edition I will be writing 13 things about my favorite author Linda Lael Miller. I've been reading Linda Lael Miller's McKettrick series all week so I felt that I should make my Thursday Thirteen for this week about her. All of this information is quoted from her website, Linda Lael Miller.

Thirteen Things about Linda Lael Miller

1. Twenty-four years after she sold her first novel, Linda Lael Miller is having what anyone would call a stellar year.

2. The self-proclaimed barn goddess and author of novels set in the West of today and yesterday is celebrating exciting career milestones.

3. With 70-some books to her credit, Linda is watching her modern-day McKettrick Men trilogy soar to the top of all the national bestseller lists, and the Romance Writers of America have announced Linda as the recipient of their prestigious 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award. And the year is still young
.

4. But what makes these successes all the more enjoyable is that Linda has come home, home to Spokane, Washington, home to writing the stories of her heart, stories set in the Western culture of her childhood, and home to living where she can pull on her boots and ride her beloved horses.

5. Inside, there's the clatter of little paws, her dogs, Sadie and Bernice, and the elegant treading of two cats that Linda claims rule the roost.

6. The daughter of a town marshal, Linda grew up in Northport, WA, a community of 500 on the Columbia River, 120 miles north of her birthplace, Spokane. Her childhood remembrances include riding horses and playing cowgirl on her grandparents' nearby farm. So rustic was her grandparents' spread that in the early days it lacked the conveniences of electricity and running water.

7. As delightful as this childhood was, though, Linda longed to see the world. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, she left to pursue her dream. Because of the success of her author career, Linda was able to live part-time in London for several years, spend time in Italy and travel to such far-off destinations as Russia, Hong Kong and Israel. Now, Linda says, the wanderlust is (mostly) out of her blood, and she's come full circle, back to the people and the places she knows and loves.

8. Before Linda begins her writing day, she takes her first cup of coffee while enjoying the scenic view of the wooded draw behind her new home. Inspired by the view, which occasionally includes a wandering moose, she focuses on her work-in-progress. It might be another contemporary Western romance, like McKettrick's Luck, McKettrick's Pride or McKettrick's Heart, or it might be a new Western historical, such as July's hardcover, A Wanted Man. It also might be a romantic thriller, such as Deadly Gamble, which launched another winning Linda Lael Miller series for her enthusiastic publisher, HQN Books.

9. Devoted to helping others pursue their dreams, Miller is excited about another endeavor. Each year she sponsors a round of competition for her Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women. The stipends, which she funds from her writing and speaking earnings, enable women 25 years and older to improve their lot in life through education. Unlike traditional scholarships, Linda's may be used for childcare, transportation, or any other expense that stands between a woman's dreams and their fulfillment.

10. It's no wonder the protagonists in Miller's novels are women her readers admire for their honor, courage, trustworthiness, valor and determination to succeed, despite overwhelming odds. "These timelessly admirable qualities make them excellent role models for young women," Miller explains. "The male leads possess equally noble traits that today's woman would be delighted to find in her life's mate."

11. And speaking of finding, Linda is excited about her association with The Humane Society of the United States, for whom she has become an advocate for the group's Pets for Life program. Once someone finds a furry friend to bring into their home, Linda and The HSUS want to help them learn how to keep the critter for life.

12. Linda traces the birth of her writing career to the day when a Northport teacher told her that the stories she was writing were good, that she just might have a future in writing. Later, when she decided to write novels, she endured her share of rejection before she made her first sale in 1983.

13. Linda has come a long way since leaving her sheltered life in Northport at age 18 to experience the world. "But growing up in that time and place, in a family grounded in Western values, served me well," she allows. "And I'm happy to be back home."

Secondhand Bride is the third book in the series and continues the story of the stubborn, hardheaded and very manly McKettrick men. This book is Jeb McKettrick's story and it is one fascinating tale to read because it is one problem after another, which makes the novel so much more interesting to read. In this book we meet other interesting characters that make the lives the the McKettrick men so much more interesting. Rafe is married to Emmeline, who miscarried her first child in the second novel and Kade and Amanda Rose aka Sister Mandy are happily married. Well now it's Jeb who is left to be married but he's already married isn't he? Well that's what he's always said to his brothers but where is this wife?
In comes the hellion Chloe Wakefield who is the wife that Jeb has been bragging about since he returned to the Triple M ranch. Well Chloe and Jeb have a very complicated relationship because Chloe says they are in fact married while Jeb says they really aren't married. Who to believe? Well you'll figure that out as you read the book. Chloe and Jeb go through so much that it makes you feel like you just want to shake them and tell them to stop being stupid and just make up. You find out a very big secret that Angus has been keeping from his sons all their lives in the first book and I really don't want to say what it is now. But there is also another character that has shaken the McKettrick family up and his name is Holt Cavanagh. He has a big role in the McKettrick family that you find out in the first, second and third novel. He's so important that he has his own book. This book is such a good read that I finished it up in one day and I instantly picked up the fourth book in the series wanting to read more about these fascinating McKettrick men and the trouble they get into. I also think that they pick out very strong willed women to marry and they keep these McKettrick men on their toes. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

No sooner had he and the pretty schoolteacher tied the knot than Jeb discovers she’s already married! Now Chloe has come to Indian Rock, hoping to find her beloved uncle John and a much-needed teaching post. High Country Bride is the first book in the series and introduces the stubborn, hardheaded and very manly McKettrick men. This book is Rafe McKettrick's story and it is one fascinating tale to read because it is one problem after another, which makes the novel so much more interesting to read. In this book we meet the three McKettrick brothers, Rafe the oldest, Kade the middle brother and Jeb the youngest and their father Angus. You also meet their trusted and loving housekeeper Concepcion who has been with the McKettrick's since her beloved husband was killed. You also find out that Angus McKettrick is feeling old and wants his wild sons to settle down and give him grandchildren. So he has come up with a contest which says that the first son to get married and give him a grandchild will have control over the ranch when he has seen fit to retire. They go through so much that it makes you feel like you just want to shake them and tell them to stop being stupid and just make up. You also find out a very big secret that Angus has been keeping from his sons all their lives. Freedom-loving Rafe McKettrick is a man of strong beliefs and stronger passions and he’ll do anything to win the Triple M—even marry a stranger. To his surprise, Emmeline’s charms beguile him even as the secrets he senses she’s hiding ignite jealously and suspicion. I would recommend this book to everyone because it is a really enjoyable book to read when you have the time to settle down with a good book. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

I absolutely love Linda Lael Miller and her historical and contemporary romances. I like her historicals a bit more than her contemporary romances. This book was I think the first book I ever read by her and I loved it and I still like to read it from time to time. I've always been fascinated by pirates and that fascination has grown since I read this book and since I've seen the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy with my favorite actors Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. Oh and also this book is about time travel which is another concept that I really liked about the novel. I would recommend this book to everyone because it is one of the greats in my opinion. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

PIRATES $ 7.99 (309 Pages)

When a Caribbean getaway is touched by star-crossed magic, a love beyond one woman’s dreams takes flight….

I love Linda Lael Miller and I have to say that her historical romances are one of the best that I've ever read, but I also love her contemporary romance. The Last Chance Cafe was the first book that I ever bought and read of hers and I loved reading it. It was also made into a LifetimeTV movie, which in my opinion wasn't that bad because Kevin Sorbo was the leading man, but it wasn't like the book at all. Here is the descriptions of the book from the back cover and a picture:

I love Linda Lael Miller because she is a very good author and I love her Orphan Train Series. Lily Chamler and Major Caleb Halliday are so good together in their own book and the things that they have to go through in order to be together. Emma Chalmers and Fulton Whitney are so good together in their own book and the things that they have to go through in order to be together. Caroline Chalmers and Guthrie Hayes are so good together in their own book and the things that they have to go through in order to be together. I love historical romances and these three novels are one of the best that I've read. I have almost all of her books and I can't wait to get any new books written by her. Here is the descriptions of the books from the back cover and pictures:

LILY & THE MAJOR $ 7.99 (Book 1)(379 Pages)

And though she struggled against her own willful heart, she knew she could never choose between the dazzling man who had claimed her love so completely, and her bold, long-cherished dreams….

EMMA & THE OUTLAW $ 7.99 (Book 2)(372 Pages)

Loving a man with a secretive past, she risked her heart—and her future….

The librarian of her frontier town in Idaho Territory, Emma Chalmers was a prim and proper as her occupation implied—despite her unconventional upbringing by the local madam. Slowly, Steven stilled her fears with his gentle insistent caresses…until at last she gave herself unashamedly to the splendid passion that was their destiny. Yet now Emma faced a new terror—the drifter she loved so desperately was a wanted man, and his past was about to catch up with him.

CAROLINE & THE RAIDER $ 7.99 (Book 3)(356 Pages)

Former confederate raider Guthrie Hayes was dashing, reckless…and incapable of denying lovely Caroline anything. Too late Caroline knew how perilous her request really was, for this strong and daring ex-soldier first intended to teach her everything about the power of a man’s love, beginning with a shameless odyssey to ecstasy in his arms….

I love Linda Lael Miller's books. I have almost all of her books and I can't get enough of her books. This series is one of the first books that I have bought and read from her and I've always liked reading them over and over. Here is the description of the books from the back cover and the pictures:

DON’T LOOK BACK $ 7.99 (Book 1)(424 Pages)

A sizzling tale of suspense and re-kindled passions set against the blazing skies of Arizona's lush desert landscape-where a killer is determined to exact his revenge.

When hard-working attorney Clare Westbrook learns that her ambulance-chasing boss has been murdered, she's shocked-but not exactly surprised. Harvey Kredd was known for his less-than-ethical business dealings, and even his acts of generosity were tinged with greed; Clare, working at Kredd and Associates to pay off the law school loan Harvey had granted her several years before, knows she's got no choice: indentured servitude, twenty-first-century style.

But Harvey's death doesn't let Clare out of her contract with the firm; instead it brings her a new, odious multimillionaire client, and Tony Sonterra, homicide detective and local heartthrob, who's not above using a murder investigation to get back into Clare's life. Jump-starting her affair with Tony is the last thing Clare needs-she's got enough on her plate raising her neice, Emma, without throwing a bull-headed cop into the mix.

Then Clare gets the news that may convince her Tony is exactly what she needs: Emma's father has been released from prison, and he's intent on seeing his daughter. Though she could never persuade the police to believe her, Clare is convinced that James Arren murdered her sister.

Clare is determined to find evidence that will put James Arren away for good, but Tony is just as determined to keep her safe, after another murder-clearly meant to target Clare-rocks the law firm. With no real leads, too many suspects, and a growing chain of menacing violence, Clare finds that teaming up with the devil she knows is her only option-one that's just too attractive to resist.

NEVER LOOK BACK $ 7.99 (Book 2)(361 Pages)

In her New York Times bestseller, DON'T LOOK NOW, Linda Lael Miller introduced two magnetic lovers bound by one volatile passion. Now savvy attorney Clare Westbrook and sexy homicide detective Tony Sonterra have more than one reason to turn to each other: falling in love-and staying alive.

Devoted defense lawyer Clare Westbrook, used to working for others, can now call the shots on her own terms. A multi-million-dollar inheritance from the father she never knew has allowed her to start her own practice. And with her teenage niece, Emma, whom she's raised as a daughter, on a school trip to Europe, Clare has been able to focus on turning a storefront in a tough Phoenix neighborhood into the legal firm of her dreams and offering her services to the troubled community. But just as she opens for business, explosive shots take out her street-level windows-and nearly take her life. Someone clearly has targeted Clare, though she doesn't know who or why. All she knows is she must surrender to Tony Sonterra's protection is she wants to survive...

Sonterra has designs on a career move to the FBI-and on rekindling his scorching, no-strings-attached affair with Clare. But can the man who sparks her passion be trusted with her life? Or is someone using Clare, the one person Tony has dared to get close to, to get to him?

ONE LAST LOOK $ 7.99 (Book 3)(306 Pages)

Linda Lael Miller ignites the combustible passion between attorney Clare Westbrook and homicide detective Tony Sonterra in this page-turning conclusion to her New York Times bestselling trilogy.

Carrying her lover Tony Sonterra's child, Clare Westbrook has finally buried her commitment phobia and said "yes" to Tony's marriage proposal. So why is fear running through her veins and haunting her dreams? Sonterra is fired up to leave Phoenix for small-town Arizona, to target a lethal desert crime ring. Clare's willing to stand by her man, but he won't be the only one flirting with danger on the job: as a special investigator for the D.A.'s office, Clare is plunged into a race to find a missing child whose mother was murdered. And on a case this hot, the promise of Clare's bright future could vanish in the blink of an eye...
