Kerrelyn Spark is an author that I stumbled upon on my trip to search for new books to buy at Barnes & Noble. I first picked up her second book in the series and I loved it so much that when I found out that there was a book before it I knew I had to get it. Since I first picked up the first two novels in this series I have been following this series very closely because Kerrelyn Sparks spins a wonderful love story about vampires, humans and shapeshifters. I actually had to search two bookstores to find the first book but I finally got it. There are a couple of new characters that are introduced in this novel that we may see pop-up in future novels and they may even have a novel all to themselves. I was so excited when I finally got my hands on the this novel because I was anxiously waiting for it after reading Ian's novel which left me wanting more and more.
This novel starts off with a typical bachelor party that is all about beers and beautiful woman in celebration of a man's on last night as a free bachelor before he marries the woman he loves. A vampire bachelor party is no different—except the men are drinking Blissky (whiskey-flavored synthetic blood) and no one can throw a party quite like Jack, the illegitimate son of the legendary Casanova. But when the party gets out of hand and the cops show up, Jack has some explaining to do...if only he wasn't struck speechless by the beauty of Officer Lara Boucher. We met Jack in one of the previous novels but now he is the vampire who will finally find the woman perfect for him as a life mate and he doesn't expect to find out that it might be a mortal. Lara is sure there's something more than a bachelor party going on even though her partner for some reason doesn't remember any of the things that they saw or why they were there in the first place. What is Jack hiding? And why is he so interested in the recent disappearence of young women all over town? Her investigation uncovers more than she wants to know, especially about this modern-day Casanova, but if she's ever to make detective, she'll need to expose all his secrets...if only her heart wasn't on the line.
This novel was just ask great as the last one and I've noticed that almost all of these ancient vampires are finding love with mortal women who are unique in their own special way that make them perfect for their vampire mate. We only got a couple of glimpses of Jack throughout this series and all we knew about him was that he was Casanova's son but in his novel we really get to know more about him and his father. After meeting Lara I think Jack has finally found someone who could understand him and see him as someone more than the just the son of the great lover Casanova. But first Jack has to make sure that Lara could be trusted with his secret that he is a good vampire and not one of those vicious Bram Stoker killing vampires that the Malcontent vampires are. I really like Lara because she has been through so much in her life but she doesn't let that get in her way of doing what she knows she was meant to do with her life and I think falling in love with Jack was meant to be. This is really one of the best of the books in this series that I have had the pleasure of reading. The ending to this novel was very intriguing and made me want the next book in the series to come out faster because I want to know what happens next to the good vamps and their love lives. I give this book 4 Open Books:

Kerrelyn Spark is an author that I stumbled upon on my trip to search for new books to buy at Barnes & Noble. I first picked up her second book in the series and I loved it so much that when I found out that there was a book before it I knew I had to get it. Since I first picked up the first two novels in this series I have been following this series very closely because Kerrelyn Sparks spins a wonderful love story about vampires, humans and shapeshifters. I actually had to search two bookstores to find the first book but I finally got it. In the first four books we only got sneak peeks into Ian MacPhie's life and personality but now we finally get to see him fall in love with a human woman after hundreds of years. Ian was turned when he was a teenager and so his body stayed at that age even though he was over hundreds of years old and that is one of the reason none of the woman would take him seriously because he looked like a teenager though he wasn't. But that all changed when Roman Draganesti made a stay-awake drug for vampires but found out that it had the side affect of making that vampire age in a painful process if taken more than a couple of times. Obviously when Ian found out he immediately signed up to test out the drug further because he finally wanted to find his true love in the body of the man he truely was.

This Christmas isn’t so merry for Toni because her best friend’s been locked up in a mental hospital ever since she told the police she was attacked by vampires. Now the only way for Toni to get her out is to prove that bloodsuckers really do exist which could be a bit hard to do or could be easy. So she’s taken a job as a bodyguard for the Undead, but she gets more than she bargained for, especially when she meets Ian MacPhie, a Scottish rascal looking for Ms. Right. Although he’s nearly five centuries old, he looks and acts like a twenty-seven-year-old hunk but what Toni doesn't know is that he only looks twenty-seven because he had a 12 day painful transformation to accomplish it. One forbidden kiss could lead to an eternity of passion—and all it takes is one moment under the mistletoe.

After being introduced to Ian who looked like a teenager in the beginning of the series I knew he would have to have he's own love story because he really needed to find love after hundreds of years of being thought of nothing more than a teenager who happened to be a vampire. I was so excited to finally get my hands on his love story especially after reading about how his painful transformation from having a teenagers body to having a twenty-seven-year old body. Now Toni is a very intriguing woman because she is strong and a very good friend who will do almost anything to make sure her friend is safe from her money hungry aunt and uncle. Ian and Toni have a lot of issues between them that really make their journey to finding true love with one another very fun to read. There are a couple of new characters that are introduced in this novel that we may see pop-up in future novels and they may even have a novel all to themselves. The ending to this novel was very interesting and made me want the next book in the series to come out faster because I want to know what happens next to the good vamps and their love lives. Kerrelyn Spark is an author that I stumbled upon on my trip to search for new books to buy at Barnes & Noble. I first picked up her second book in the series and I loved it so much that when I found out that there was a book before it I knew I had to get it. I actually had to search two bookstores to find the first book but I finally got it. Today I will be reviewing the fourth as so far the lastest book in the series but you are in luck because next month on Tuesday, October 28th the fifth book All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire is coming out. When I starting reading this book I had just finished reading the third book in the series so I was ready to enjoy reading more about all the good vamps I have come to love in this series. The heroine is Heather Westfield a mortal divorced mother of one daughter who is a school teacher but is really a fashion designer underneath. The hero is Jean-Luc Echarpe is the Western European vamp coven master and he is world famous fashion designer.
Heather and Jean-Luc have fashion designing in common and their attraction one another is going to get one of them killed. There is an assassin sent by Casime called Lui, who has been after Jean-Luc for hundreds of years, and he is back to coming after Jean-Luc and his current love, which is how Heather is thrown into this dangerous situation that bring her Jean-Luc together. Heather doesn't know about Jean-Luc being a vampire but she knows that he is keeping a secret from her because she never sees him during the day and only during the night does she get to spend time with him and his friends and employees. I loved reading all the drama that happened between Jean-Luc and Heather but I also loved that I got to read about how the rest of the vamps and their mates are doing from the previous novels in the series. The ending to this novel was very interesting and made me want the next book in the series to come out faster because I want to know what happens next to the good vamps and their love lives. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
THE UNDEAD NEXT DOOR $ 6.99 (Book 4)(369 Pages)

THREE SIGNS THAT SOMETHING IS VERY DIFFERENT WITH YOUR NEW MAN:

1. He sleeps all day…which would be annoying except he’s so attentive at night.

2. He’s attacked by sword-wielding assailants, yet insists he can handle it on his own.

3. He never seems to age.

Heather Westfield has always lived a quite life, but that all changes when she helps a very handsome, very mysterious stranger. There’s something not quite right about Jean-Luc, but still, she’s never been with a man so charming, so attractive…so wonderful. Now if only a murderous villain wasn’t after them, they might get their happily-ever-after.

Today I will be reviewing the third book in the series and one very interesting novel because there is a very sexy Scottish kilt wearing man as the hero. The heroine is Emma Wallace another member of the vamp "Stake-Out" CIA team with a high psychic power and who moonlights as a vampire slayer in Central Park, NYC. The hero is Angus MacKay a good vamp who is the British coven master and the owner of MacKay Security and Investigation which protects Roman, his family and all of his businesses.
Emma and Angus make an unlikely couple because she hates all vamps and he is a vamp. Angus has a very powerful attraction to Emma when they first meet and so does Emma to him even though she has a sneaking suspicion that Angus might actually be a vampire. Angus and Emma have a bumpy relationship because Emma has a past hurt that hasn't healed because she is so intent on seeking revenge. In time when they both are faced with a seriously dangerous situation they know that they may have already fallen in love with each other but they can't see any way they could be with each other. Angus and Emma are such strong characters and it was wonderful seeing them fall in love and give in to one another in the end. I also love the little happy surprise at the end because it just made me love this series that much more. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
BE STILL MY VAMPIRE HEART $ 5.99 (Book 3)(372 Pages)

One look at her was enough to stop his heart…
If it was beating. Angus MacKay has been undead for almost five hundred years and it’s not often something, or someone, surprises him. Until Emma Wallace. The sight of this luscious agent from the CIA’s elite Stake-Out team was enough to stop Angus in his tracks. But then he discovers that she’s a vampire slayer, intent on killing the “monsters” who killed her parents. And it’s Angus’s job to stop her.
The only good vampire is a dead vampire. It’s been Emma’s motto since she committed her life to the destruction of these things. Now Angus MacKay wants to convince her differently. Sure, he’s a sexy Highland warrior who seems to have stepped off the cover of a romance novel, complete with brogue, kilt, and sword, but he’s also one of them. And it’s her job to kill him.

Kerrelyn Spark is an author that I stumbled upon on my trip to search for new books to buy at Barnes and Noble. I first picked up her second book in the series, which I will be reviewing today, and I loved it so much that when I found out that there was a book before it I knew I had to get it. I actually had to search two bookstores to find the first book but I'm glad that I found it because it helped me understand some of the characters in this book. The good and bad vampires from the first book are back in this novel and it makes this a more interesting plot. The heroine is Darcy Newhart a vampire who was turned 4 years ago but longs to become human again. The hero is Austin Erickson a mortal with a very high psychic power and telekinesis who works for the vampire "Stake-Out" CIA team that is lead by Shanna's father Sean Whelan. This team wants to kill all the vamps because they think they are all evil and they don't believe that there are good and bad vamps out there.
Darcy was once a television reporter until she was attacked and mortally wounded by a Malcontent vamp and had to be turned by a good vamp, which happened to be Scottish hottie Connor who works for Roman and Angus. So now that Roman is married his harem has been kicked out of his home and are in need of a new master to take care of them. This leads Darcy to create a new reality TV show that will help her get a job in the television business where she belongs. Austin and another member of the CIA team go undercover and are two of the mortals on the show. This is one very interesting novel with many twists and turns that could rival a soap opera but with much more taste and class. I loved reading this book and I loved the ending because it was a bit unexpected but just the thing that makes the reader want to read about the other secondary characters that just pop out and call to your attention. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:
VAMPS AND THE CITY $ 5.99 (Book 2)(387 Pages)
Who says a vamp can’t have it all?
Darcy Newhart thought it was a stroke of genius—the first-ever reality TV show where mortals vie with vampires for the title of The Sexiest Man on Earth. As the show’s director Darcy’s career would be on the track again. And she can finally have a life apart from the vampire harem. Okay, so she’s still technically dead, but two out of three’s not bad. Now she just has to make sure that a mortal doesn’t win. If only she wasn’t so distracted by a super-sexy and live contestant named Austin…
But Darcy doesn’t know the worst of it. Austin Erickson is actually a vampire slayer! And he’s got his eye on the show’s leggy blond director. Only problem is, he’s never wanted any woman—living or dead—as badly. But if he wins her heart, will he lose his soul? And if it means an eternity of hot, passionate loving with Darcy, does that really matter anyway?
Kerrelyn Spark is an author that I stumbled upon on my trip to search for new books to buy at Barnes & Noble. I first picked up her second book in the series and I loved it so much that when I found out that there was a book before it I knew I had to get it. I actually had to search two bookstores to find this book, which is the first in the series and the one I will be reviewing today. I love vampire romance novels because they are so fascinating to read about these paranormal creatures that may or may not really exist and each author has their own view on how vampires really are. The heroine is a mortal woman named Shanna Whelan who is a dentist in the witness protection from the Russian mafia. The hero is an over 400-year-old vampire named Roman Draganesti who is an ex-monk and scientist who created synthetic blood that saves human lives and feeds all the vampires around the world who decides to drink it.
Roman and Shanna are very interesting characters because they are hundred years of age apart and they have lead totally different lives. But the clincher is that Roman is a vampire who is dead during the day and Shanna is a mortal who has a bit of psychic powers and it wanted by the human Russian mafia and the bad Malcontent vampires. There is a lot of danger for them in their lives because of the Malcontent vampires also known as the "True Ones" are always after killing Roman who is the leader and protector of the good vampires. Beside Roman and Shanna there are also many secondary characters in this first book in the series who are also very intriguing and compelling characters that I know might one day have their own book. Here are description of the book from the back cover and picture:
HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE VAMPIRE $ 5.99 (Book 1)(371 Pages)

Things aren’t going well for Shanna Whelan, either. After witnessing a gruesome murder, she’s next on the mob’s hit list. And her career as a dentist appears to be on a downward spiral because she’s afraid of blood. When Roman rescues her from an assassination attempt, she wonders if she’s found the one man who can keep her alive. Though the attraction between them is immediate and hot, can Shanna conquer her fear of blood fix Roman’s fang? And if she does, what will prevent Roman from using his fangs on her…?
