I think Katie MacAlister is a really good writer and I've read almost all of her books and I especially like the Aisling Grey series books. She has 4 books out in that series and that is where the Silver Dragons series really started from because the main dragon of this novel was in a couple of her previous books. I think that everyone needs to at least give these books a try because they are funny and romantic. We've met the hero of this series because he was in the Aisling Gray series and I liked him even though he didn't make a lot of appearances. In the last novel and the first of the Silver Dragons series things were not looking good for May and Gabriel's budding relationship. Though May Northcott’s heart belongs to Gabriel Tauhou, the leader of the silver dragons, being stuck in Abaddon has significantly cooled down her love life—especially since a demon lord is trying to woo her. May and Gabriel are having a long distance relationship that is on a whole different level from normal and it's sad and frustrating to see them so unhappy. So far, May has resisted the demon's efforts, but it’s getting increasingly harder to thwart disaster because she really wants to get back to Gabriel but don't know they will ever get together.
So May is shocked when Gabriel encourages her to give in to the demon prince and become his constort so that she can come back to the human world again. But her fire-breathing boyfriend Gabriel has an ulterior motive for telling May to give in to the demon prince that he has been working out since she had to leave him in the last book. Since May was created in the mortal world, her surrender would give her master access to that world, where he would lose most of his powers. It looks as though May will have to barter to gain her freedom and fulfill her destiny by Gabriel’s side and we get to read about Aisling and Drake again in this novel. I totally wish that Katie would please think about going back to writing up Aisling novels again because I would really like to get back into her point of view. But will a deal with the devil make her life heaven or hell? That is where things get interesting and it isn't a road easily driven though because they have many problems in their way that they need to solve before they can live happily ever after. Now I'm anxiously waiting to know what is going to happen with May and Gabriel because this book left me wanting more. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

I think Katie MacAlister is a really good writer and I've read almost all of her books and I especially like the Aisling Grey series books. She has 4 books out in that series and that is where the Silver Dragons series really started from because the main dragon of this novel was in a couple of her previous books. I think that everyone needs to at least give these books a try because they are funny and romantic. We've met the hero of this series because he was in the Aisling Gray series and I liked him even though he didn't make a lot of appearances. Gabriel Tauhou, the leader of the silver dragons, can’t seem to take his eyes of May Northcott—not even when May, who has the unique talent of being able to hide in the shadows, has slipped from everyone else’s sight. Gabriel is not exactly like all the other dragon wyvern and May is not like any other paranormal being as well. That makes them such a lovely couple because they are both unique in some way so they connect with each other as mates.
May, however, has little time for Gabriel—not when she’s hiding from the Otherworld law, hunting down a blackmailer, and trying to avoid a demon lord’s demands. May is the twin of her sister who is the reason she is alive because she gave up her common sense to create May. But her ability to withstand Gabriel’s fire marks her as his mate, and he has no intention of letting her disappear into the darkness she seems to prefer. The silver dragon's a cursed with never to be able to find themselves their mate and that includes Gabriel the wyvern of the silver dragon but that changes when he meets May. Once he knows that May is his mate he is never going to let her go because she is the blessing he has been waiting for his entire life. Then May is ordered to steal one of Gabriel’s treasures—and immensely important relic of all dragonkin—and he must decide which to protect: his love or his dragons.
May and Gabriel have a very rocky start to their relationship because neither has ever felt this intense attraction to one another. May has never really had contact with the dragons or wyverns for that matter so she doesn't know much about their culture or history. So you can imagine all the drama and conflict that is going on in this novel especially between Gabriel and May who just found themselves falling in love with each other. I enjoyed this novel very much and the ending had me very excited to be able to pick up the next book in the series because it was sort of a cliff hanger ending. I do hope that Katie MacAlister continues with this series but also I hope she doesn't give up on her Aisling Grey series because that last book in the series wasn't enough for me. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

I love reading Katie MacAlister's books because she writes romance either contemporary, paranormal or historical and they have a way about it that makes me laugh when I read. Her books are always fun to read and I enjoy them. I really loved reading her novel The Corset Diaries because it was funny and romantic all in one, which I think is a good combination together. This book was one of the many that I have bought of Katie MacAlister's and I loved reading it even though I'm not much into reading books in the first person. This book is not about a skinny heroine, which I have to say most novels are about, but about a good sized heroine who meets this great guy with a very spoiled daughter. I have to say that it was a very good read and that is why I like reading Katie MacAlister's novels, even though I like to read about more than the heroine's point of view, she writes in a way that you can still get the full affect through the heroine. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and picture:

THE CORSET DIARIES $ 6.99 (344 Pages)

“I HAVE TO WEAR WHAT???”

No woman in her right mind would consent to wearing a corset for a month. Especially a “skinny-challenged” woman like myself. But dreams of being debt-free danced in my head when I received the offer to appear on a reality TV show. A Month in the Life of a Victorian Duke is about real people—like me—pretending to live on an English estate, circa 1879. Sounds fun, no? Well, it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. We’re talking no televisions, no cell phones, and no PMS medication. And did I mention the corsets? No breathing for a full month. Luckily, when I met the real-life duke who was to be my pretend husband, he took my breath away…. In a manor in which everyone must strictly follow the Victorian lifestyle, things were bound to go wrong. Like when some harmless lust turned into the other thing…Love was definitely not in the contract.

Today's Thursday Thirteen edition I will be writing 13 things about my favorite author Katie MacAlister. All of this information is quoted from her website, Katie MacAlister.
Thirteen Things about Katie MacAlister

1. For as long as she can remember, Katie MacAlister has loved reading. 2. Growing up in a family where a weekly visit to the library was a given, Katie spent much of her time with her nose buried in a book. 3. Despite her love for novels, she didn't think of writing them until she was contracted to write a non-fiction book about software. 4. Since her editor refused to allow her to include either witty dialogue or love scenes in the software book, Katie swiftly resolved to switch to fiction, where she could indulge in world building, tormenting characters, and falling madly in love with all her heroes. 5. Two years after she started writing novels, Katie sold her first romance, Noble Intentions. 6. Twenty-four books quickly followed during the four years after Noble's publication. 7. Her novels have been translated into numerous languages, been recorded as audiobooks, received several awards, and placed on the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. 8. She also writes for the young adult audience as Katie Maxwell. 9. Katie lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dogs, and can often be found lurking around online. 10. Katie MacAlister has another website for her Aisling Grey and Dragon series books where you called Dragon Septs. 11. Katie MacAlister has a Forum where you can post along with Katie and ask her questions about her writing, books and about her pictures of hot guys. 12. Katie MacAlister likes to give out Freebies to anyone who wants them and she has a list of what is being offered for those who want them. 13. Katie MacAlister also has a couple of fun Book Videos you can watch about her Dark Ones and Aisling Grey novels and her other works too.

I love reading Katie MacAlister's books because she writes romance either contemporary, paranormal or historical and they have a way about it that makes me laugh when I read. IMPROPER ENGLISH $ 6.99 (369 Pages)

London on Three Kisses a Day

Brandishing a loaf of French bread at a dishy detective wasn’t how Alexandra Freemar had envisioned starting her stay in London. But the sassy American wasn’t about to put up with any flak from the uptight—albeit gorgeous—Scotland Yard inspector who accused her of breaking and entering. She didn’t have time to deal with this suspicious upstairs neighbor. She had two months to write the perfect romance novel—two months to prove that she could succeed as an author.

Luckily, reserved Englishmen were not her cup of tea. Yet, one kiss told her Alexander Black might not be quite as proper as she’d thought. In fact, his lips could be classified as downright wicked, leaving Alix to wonder how far his talents extended. There was only one snag: The serious-minded gentleman wasn’t interested in a mere summer fling. And while as a writer Alix knew every imaginable euphemism for the male member, as a woman she soon realized she had a lot to learn about love.

I love reading Katie MacAlister's books because she writes romance either contemporary, paranormal or historical and they have a way about it that makes me laugh when I read. Her books are always fun to read and I enjoy them. I really loved reading her hilarious scottish Men in Kilts novel because it was funny and romantic all in one, which I think is a good combination together. This book was one of the first that I ever bought of Katie MacAlister's and I loved reading it even though I'm not much into reading books in the first person. What do they wear under those things?

So far, Kathie Williams has made a good showing as the only American at a mystery writers’ conference in Manchester, England—what with that falling asleep in public thing behind her. The sight of Iain MacLaren wakes her up. Clad in a deliciously woolly sweater, the burly Scotsman seems to be holding up a wall at the cocktail party. So Kathie makes her move…and winds up stark naked with him in bed, where his thick Scottish brogue, thick manly chest, and thick…other parts… drive her to do things she’s never done before. Like fall in love. And if things aren’t moving fast enough—and on the wrong side of the road, no less—Kathie is about to visit Iain’s sheep farm in the Scottish Highlands and meet his sons. She’s feeling a wee bit nervous. Because she can’t tell where this mad affair is going—except north….

Shiver me timbers....

I love reading Katie MacAlister's books because she writes romance either contemporary, paranormal or historical and they have a way about it that makes me laugh when I read. Her books are always fun to read and I enjoy them. I really liked reading her novella Ain't Myth-Behaving because it was funny and romantic all in one, which I think is a good combination together. Katie is the one of a couple of authors that can make me read a first person novel because she knows how to do it right and exciting enough to keep me entertained. I've learned about some mythology for the Ancient Greeks and Romans so it was interesting to read this novel. They are both about totally different types of mythology because it's two different stories in one amazing book. Here is the description of the book from the back cover and pictures:
AIN’T MYTH-BEHAVING $ 6.99 (353 Pages)
A modern woman and a god from ancient legend? Surely an epic love mismatch…or maybe it’s the “myth match” of the century? The irrepressible Katie MacAlister brings us heroes who are more than mere mortals in two sparkling new novellas of the Otherworld.

NORSE TRULY

So when lovely American Brynna Lund skids her car off the road into the ocean, he and his men are happy for the diversion of rescuing her. I love reading Katie MacAlister's books because she writes romance either contemporary, paranormal or historical and they have a way about it that makes me laugh when I read. Her books are always fun to read and I enjoy them. The Dark Ones Series is a very good series that I loved reading and there are 5 books out in this series and I hope there will be more. A GIRL’S GUIDE TO VAMPIRES $ 6.99 (Book 1)(374 Pages)

Joy Randall’s Top 5 Tips for Vampire Hunters

1. Location, location, location. Remember, if you wouldn’t be there, neither would a bloodsucker. They won’t be found dead (ha!) in places like discos, ten-minute lube shops, or Switzerland. Check the Czech Republic.

2. Trust your eyes. You know the handsome, annoyingly arrogant, self-assured man in the shadows with long hair and a cleft in his chin? He’s your vampire.

3. No matter how tempting it might be, DO NOT “ACCIDENTALLY” ACQUIRE A PAPER CUT AND SUGGEST YOUR VAMPIRE KISS YOUR FINGER TO MAKE IT BETTER. What you offer as a snack, he might take for a four-course meal.

4. From here on out, play it cool. Don’t offer to accompany your prince of the night on the talk show circuit and WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T OFFER HIM YOUR HEART.

5. And most of all, remember—being a vampire is nothing to laugh about.

SEX & THE SINGLE VAMPIRE $ 6.99 (Book 2)(371 Pages)

Allergra’s Dictionary of the Paranormal

DARK ONE n. [Origin Czech, also known as vampires] A Moravian Dark One is doomed to spend his lifetime cruising the singles’ scene in search of the one woman who can redeem his soul. You think dating is hard? Try it when you’re nine hundred years old and you’ve used every pickup line in the book. Forming a lasting relationship is even more difficult when the woman who makes your heart sing sees dead people and likes to play with demons.

SUMMONER n. [Origin English] Someone who summons ghosts, poltergeists, and demon lords. Summoners tend to hang around cities like London that are filled with portals to Hell, haunted inns, and other locations dishy with vampires might be found lurking. Most Summoners are female, which makes for difficulties when it comes to explaining to the man who haunts your dreams and fills your soul with love why your pet ghosts can be found hovering around even in the most romantic of circumstances.

EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES $ 6.99 (Book 4)(359 Pages)

Paen Scott is a Dark One: a vampire without a soul. And his mother is about to lose hers too if Paen can’t repay a debt to a demon by finding a relic known as the Jilin God in five days. Half-elf Samantha Cosse may have gotten kicked out of the Order of Diviners, but she’s still good at finding things, which is why she just opened her own private investigation agency. Paen is one of Sam’s first clients and the only one to set her elf senses tingling, which makes it pretty much impossible to keep their relationship on a professional level. Sam is convinced that she is Paen’s Beloved—the woman who can give him his soul…whether he wants it or not.

THE LAST OF THE RED HOT VAMPIRES $ 7.99 (Book 5)(354 Pages)

I just created a cool FORUM for my website yesterday! You know that there are some authors who have a forum where their readers can post about the books the authors written and where the members could post about themselves and post games and such. Well I decided to look for a place where I could get a FREE forum so I can do just like some of those authors. OMG I can't believe I actually made one and it's all thanks to my friend from the KMM forum known as MacKelterLover. I asked her advice on what she thought of me created this forum and she told me to go for it and I did. Now I just have to tell everyone I know what is going on so they can also join me in posting on this cool new forum. I can't wait to see how this whole thing will turn out. So whoever wants to join all you have to do is going to my website called Ivette's Place and click on the tab that says Ivette's Place Forum and there is the link that will lead you to the forum that I created. I have a lot of things that people can talk about such as themselves, writers and aspiring writers, movies, TV shows, books and authors, and so much more (I have special rooms for certain authors). So all I will say is ENJOY!

I think Katie MacAlister is a really good writer. I've read almost all of her books and I especially like the Aisling Grey series books. She has 4 books out in this series and I'll be posting their cover pictures and descriptions. I think that everyone needs to at least give these books a try because they are funny and romantic. Here are the descriptions of the book from the back of the covers and pictures:

YOU SLAY ME $ 6.99 (Book 1)(342 Pages)

I’m Aisling Grey, and I have the job from Hell….

Literally. My prior career as a courier began and ended when I traveled to Paris to deliver a six-hundred-year-old golden dragon statue and learned I was a Guardian. That’s a Keeper of the Gates to Hell to you mere mortals. This I found out from Drake Vireo, a scrumptiously sexy (in human form at least) real-life dragon. Then he stole my artifact out from under my nose—and from the dead body of the person I was supposed to deliver it to. After tracking Drake down to a local bar, I discovered I’m also a wyvern’s mate. And wouldn’t you know Drake is a wyvern? He couldn’t be just some underling—he had to be head dragon. But the fact that he’s the prime suspect behind the murders in Paris’s immortal underworld—murders I must solve in order to clear my suddenly soiled name—means it will take some convincing to get me to partake of the sensual pleasures he offers. Just because I’m naïve doesn’t mean I’m easy. Other than being a murder suspect, conjuring up a demon in the form of a shaggy Newfoundland, and fending off the advances of a horny dragon. I’m having a wonderful time in Paris. Wish you were here….

FIRE ME UP $ 6.99 (Book 2)(366 Pages)

I’m Aisling Grey, and apparently I’m irresistible….

Being quite the novice Guardian/Keeper of the Gates to Hell, I’ve decided to get in touch with my otherworldly self by attending a convention of supernatural beings in Budapest. For my other career as a courier (with a somewhat tarnished reputation), I have to deliver a priceless amulet to a hermit, much to the amusement of Jim, my wisecracking furry Newfoundland demon. He should be happy that I was able to squeak through customs with a talking dog…. And guess who just happens to be staying at the same hotel as I am? Drake. You remember him. The wyvern of the green dragons? My so-called “mate”? the man who literally fires me up and makes me act like a lovesick schoolgirl? That Drake. Meanwhile, mortal men are falling at my feet. I don’t know if it’s the Hungarian air or what, but it’s downright embarrassing. All I want to do is find a Guardian mentor to help me control my powers. Should be easy—expect that every Guardian I meet with winds up dead. I’m starting to get a complex….

LIGHT MY FIRE $ 6.99 (Book 3)(341 Pages)

I’m Aisling Grey, and multitasking is my middle name….

It’s not easy being a demon lord, a Guardian, and a wyvern’s mate all at once. Luckily, I just moved to London to study all things Guardian with my mentor. A new start is exactly what I need after being betrayed (again!) by Drake, wyvern of the green dragons. Though I’m supposedly immortal. I’m not so sure my heart can take another beating. But I’m still officially Drake’s mate—and my presence is required at a meeting of the green dragons. How I’m going to keep my distance from the fire-breathing hunk is beyond me. It doesn’t help that several annoying attempts have been made on my life. Or that I’m wanted by the entire otherworldly population of imps since Jim, my doggie demon sidekick, accidentally ate their ruler. Being an alpha dragon and all, Drake is sure to get protective of me—which might not be a bad thing when war breaks out and all hell breaks loose…literally.

HOLY SMOKE $ 7.99 (Book 4)(348 Pages)

I’m Aisling Grey, but you can call me “frustrated.”

The dragon of my dreams—übersexy Drake Vireo, wyvern of the green dragons—has finally decided to make an honest woman of me. That is, if we ever make it to the wedding at the same time! Being left at the altar may have cooled my jets, but not my passion…a good thing when Drake disappears and it’s up to me to find him.

Most brides just have in-laws to worry about. Me? I have warring dragons, ticked-off demon lords, eternal damnation, and a mage who wants to challenge me for an otherworldly position I don’t even want. At least Jim, my doggie demon, is always at my side. He’s never let me down…yet.
