Well I have been reading a lot of books since I joined up to be a reviewer for the website Manic Readers and this is one of my many reviews for them. Today I'm going to be posting my review of Tally's Girst by Elle Amery, which is the third book of her Quartzton series. I also posted the reviews for the first, Saving Sophie, and second book, Grace on Fire, in the series for Manic Readers as well here on the blog. Elle Amery contacted me when she found out I reviewed her first novel Saving Sophie and we worked with our schedules and I posted my interview with her yesterday here and her author guest blog will be posted on Thursday, May 7.

You wouldn’t expect these two to ever have anything more than a friendly acquaintance because Tally Bennett has always been a giver while Brett Huntsman has always been a playboy. After a snowboarding accident Brett has to deal with the fact that he can't use his hands as well as one of his legs and he is in need of someone to take care of him until his casts are taken off. Tally’s best friend and Brett’s younger sister, Sophie, can’t make it back home to take care of her brother so she needs Tally’s help to do it for her. Now at first Tally’s not so happy to be around the self-centered playboy but she's happy to help him out in more ways than one—but for one night and one night only. But then Sophie asks her for one more favor and that is to take care of the arrogant rich boy Brett while his broken bones heal. Tally has just started developing her new bath and body line called Naughty Body, which could be a very profitable new line. So she’s wondering how she’s supposed to find the time to take care of Brett and deal with his latest request which is that they treat themselves to a six-week sex fest. Brett has always gotten what he wants no matter what and now he wants to have wonderfully exciting sex with Tally after their one night at the hospital. But this sex fest with the thriving, earthy Tally affects Brett in a way he never saw coming after never having a serious relationship with a woman before and now he's just discovered the one thing money can't buy…Tally's heart. After reading Elle Amery’s first two Quartzton series novels, Saving Sophie and Grace on Fire which introduced Tally Bennett and Brett Huntsman, I was really looking forward to reading more about Tally and Brett who finally have their own love story told after their best friends and siblings hook up. We get an introduction to Tally and Brett in the first two novels but now we get to know them so much better as their love story gets told at last. Tally is a really intriguing character because she seems so very different from her best friends Sophie and Grace since she is not at all concerned with her wardrobe and is a very carefree woman that some people might categorize as a hippie. Since Tally was a child and met Brett they have always had a sort of friendly acquaintance kind of relationship because they had nothing in common especially since Tally was and still is Brett’s younger sister Sophie’s best friend. Tally is not one of your typical heroines you usually read about in romance novels and that made her so much more relatable as a character. Brett was raised like a little prince who got whatever he wanted and was taught that money could buy you anything no matter what. But that changed once he really got to know Tally after his accident, which was caused because he was flirting with a woman. I think that Brett is one hot man who is really in need of a reality check to kick him in the pants because though he seems like a self-centered rich playboy I can see that there is a really loving man underneath. Brett’s accident is probably the best thing to have happen to both Brett and Tally because it gave them a chance to see that they were meant for one another. I had a really wonderful time reading this novel because it was pretty steamy yet it had such a character development that I really thought followed with the first two novels very nicely. Now Tally and Brett may really seem like complete opposites while you read Tally's Gift but I knew they were meant to be with each other because they have that intense spark that just really gets to you. I was a bit sad yet happy again when I finish this third and last novel in Elle Amery’s Quartzton series. I was sad to have come to the end of the novel but I was happy because I have heard that Elle might be working on another book for her Quartzton series. Elle Amery delivers a wonderfully deliciously hot, sexy and thrilling conclusion to her amazing Quartzton series that will have you panting from the start with steamy scenes that will keep you reading until the very end to find the happily ever after.

I do love paranormal romances very much because the authors create this totally different world that is similar to our own world. But these worlds these authors create are filled with all these paranormal creatures that we only think is myth but are totally real in paranormal romances. I know that author Jessica Coulter Smith loves to read paranormal romances so when she writes paranormal romances are what she ends up creating. I had her guest blog here about her novel, Moonlight Protector, which is the first book of her Ashton Grove Werewolves series. I also posting my interview with her here so you can read it to find out more about Jessica's writing and about some of her hobbies and favorite authors. I had the pleasure of reviewing her first book in her new series called Moonlight Protector and what a nice read that was for me. Well I have been reading a lot of books since I joined up to be a reviewer for the website Manic Readers and this is one of my many reviews for them. Today I'm going to be posting my review of Magnolia Magick by Jessica Coulter Smith.

Lissa, who is a famous romance author, has travelled to a small town in southern Georgia because she needs to complete her latest novel for her agent or else. So she decides to rent an antebellum plantation for the next six months that she forgot to check out before deciding to rent the place. However, she didn’t count on sharing her temporary home with the resident ghost who is named Jesse and he has been dead for almost one hundred years. In all of his time on earth, both as a living person and spectral ghost haunting his home, he has never met anyone as special to him as Lissa. If Jesse had a beating heart, it would have stopped beating the moment he saw her because why couldn’t Lissa, who is passionate, beautiful, talented woman, have come along while he was still alive. During a trip to town, Lissa meets the local bank owner named Jared and he is one sinfully handsome banker who sweeps Lissa off her feet after five minutes. He claims to be in love with her and wants her to move permanently to the small town of Maple Falls so that they can continue their very fast paced relationship. Things are heating up very quickly between the two of them which leaves Lissa totally confused over whether it’s really love or uncontrollable lust that is drawing them together after such a short time. When Jared finds out that Lissa likes to casts spells and visits a magick shop things take a turn for the worse for their relationship. Jared can’t afford the hint of scandal which will send him running the other way instead of standing by Lissa in her time of need. Magnolia Magic by Jessica Coulter SmithI’ve read the first book of Jessica Coulter Smith’s Ashton Grove Werewolves series and really loved it so I was very much looking forward to reading one of her stand alone novels. The cover of Magnolia Magick really grabbed me when I first saw it, so I went to read the blurb next to see what the book would be about. I love to read paranormal romances because they take what we think of as normal and turn it into a totally different world filled with their own imagined beliefs of paranormal. I don’t read much paranormal romances about ghosts so it was a nice change of pace to read this novel by an author I liked reading. I thought it was so interesting that the heroine Lissa is a famous romance author in need of some alone time to get her next novel in her best selling series finished. It added a wonderful twist when she gets to the house she’s renting and finds the ghost of a very hot man living there already. I really thought that Lissa and Jesse were the intended couple in the beginning but then she meets Jared who really sweeps her off her feet. I was not that happy with that twist to the story because I thought Lissa and Jesse were the perfect couple. That didn’t put me off to the novel though because as I kept reading I could see that there was something bigger for Lissa and Jesse. There was something about Jared that I thought was too smooth and charming that I didn’t like and could see that it will be a good to be true relationship for Lissa. I was both sad and happy when things took a turn for the worse but I was so happy for the wonderful ending. Jessica Coulter Smith delivers an intriguing paranormal novel with twists and turns that will keep you guessing and with the thought of getting a wonderful happily ever after.

Well I have been reading a lot of books since I joined up to be a reviewer for the website Manic Readers and this is one of my many reviews for them. Today I'm going to be posting my review of Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James.
* * * * *

Payton Kendall, a feminist to the bone, has struggled very hard to make it in a profession that has been dominated by men for years. J.D. Jameson, born wealthy, privileged, and cocky has struggled hard to ignore her while trying to become a successful lawyer independent from his family. Payton and J.D. are lawyers who have made it their mission to make a success of their careers and when they are face to face, they’re perfectly civil to one another because they have to be. For the past eight years they’ve kept a very safe reserve and tolerated each other as co-workers for one reason only and that is to finally make partner at the firm. But all bets are off when they’re asked to join forces on a major case that could be the best opportunity to show the firm that they are perfect candidates for partners. At first Payton and J.D. are anxious but they soon begin to appreciate each other’s dedication and passion to the law they chose to practice and that is when the sparks between them quickly turn into a passionate attraction. But the increasingly steamy hot connection they feel toward each other doesn’t last long when they discover that only one of them will be named partner in a couple of weeks. Now it’s going to be an all out war and it becomes a big battle between the sexes, which is bound to make these lawyers very hot under the collar.

Before I read this book I read Julie James debut novel Just the Sexiest Man Alive, which I really had fun reading. So I was very much looking forward to reading Practice Makes Perfect since I heard it was a great read with high ratings. I haven’t read many romance novels with lawyers as the heroine or hero so this novel was a really change of pace for me. I have been told that I could be a lawyer since I love to make a case of almost every argument I have ever had. But once I found out everything you need to know to be a lawyer and all the hours on average a lawyer works a week I knew that was not a career for me. I really enjoyed the relationship between Payton and J.D. because they are such dedicated lawyers who have several characteristics in common with each other. I really got to know each character as I read this novel which is really great and I also thought that some of the scenes between Payton and J.D. were pretty hilarious that I found myself laughing out loud most of the time.

Payton is a very strong and independent woman and I had a great time getting to know her as well as see her develop as the novel progressed. J.D. is also a strong and independent man who was born wealthy but is really too cocky at times that I really just wanted to smack him at times but that didn’t turn me away from liking him as much as I do Payton. There was one thing that I really would have liked as I read this novel and that was a bit more steamy scenes between Payton and J.D. because I could tell that they have that hot and heavy attraction to each other. In the end, reading this novel was such a joy that I really do look forward to reading more books by Julie James in the future. Julie James delivers a hilariously funny novel with wonderfully intriguing characters that had me laughing and smiling.

* * * * *
Grace Muscat, Jake Muscat’s younger sister, is starting to come alive again after finally being freed from a painful abusive marriage by her husband's accidental death in a car accident. But when she overhears the town's sexiest and immature firefighter, Don Marshall, call her "frigid," she realizes he's right. Now Grace is convinced that she has to learn how to enjoy sex after being married to sexually controlling Duane who killed all the joy of sex for so many years. Now who better to teach her how to enjoy sex than her one sinfully sexy friend, Wyatt Bennett who gave her, her first kiss? Wyatt will do anything for Grace because after all, he's been in love with her for years, since that kiss he gave her when he took her to her prom. Wyatt’s heart is already entangled up with love for Grace; sex couldn't possibly complicate things further with their comfortable and trusting friendship, could it? In fact, having sex with Grace could be his one chance to make her to fall in love with him once in for all after all these years of loving her in secret. However, when Wyatt’s plan becomes clear that Grace is only out to snag firefighter Don, he realizes he's faced with the conflict of being a supportive friend and a man in love. So now Wyatt has to figure out a way to finally tell her and make Grace understand that he loves her so much and that they are meant to be together forever.
After reading Elle Amery’s novel Saving Sophie, which introduced Grace Muscat and Wyatt Bennett, I was really looking forward to reading more about Sophie’s best friends Grace and Tally who have their own love story novels. Grace’s love story is set at a different pace than Sophie’s but nonetheless it was just as good and hot as I expected it to be when I read the blurb for the novel. I thought Grace was a very intriguing character when I read Saving Sophie especially when her abusive marriage was mentioned as well as her finally having peace after the death of her husband. I was so glad to finally get to know more about Grace’s past as well as how her love story come to be with her book Grace on Fire. It was sometimes very emotional reading about all the abusive and controlling things that Grace’s dead husband Duane would do to her during their marriage I just wanted to cry. So I was so glad that Wyatt who is such a special man who understands Grace and is great enough to help her overcome her fears that Duane ingrained into her about sex.
I know that Wyatt has some anger issues that may frighten some women but I could see that he would never hurt a woman no made how angry he gets because he’s not that type of man. Grace may have wanted to use Wyatt to help her be more comfortable with sex so she can prove to Don that she wasn’t frigid by having sex with him but I knew somewhere deep that she wanted Wyatt. There were so many twists and turns throughout this novel between Grace and Wyatt because they have been friends and even worked together for a long time that they didn’t expect to fall in love with one another. Grace and Wyatt may seem like complete opposites but reading this novel I knew they were meant to be with each other because they have that intense spark that can’t be seen apart but bursts free when the time is right. I was a bit sad yet happy again when I finish this second novel in Elle Amery’s Quartzton series. I was sad to have come to the end of the novel but I was happy because there is still Tally’s love story with Brett Huntsman in, Tally’s Gift. Elle Amery delivers yet another deliciously hot, sexy and thrilling novel that will have you panting from the start with witty characters and steamy scenes and keep you reading until the very end to find out if the main couple will get their happily ever after.

Sophie Huntsman has had a very big crush on the gorgeous Jake Muscat ever since she was a frizzy-haired little twerp who used to follow him, his friend Wyatt and her brother, Brett around when they were kids. But after years of not seeing one another she's now all woman and fiercely determined to carry out her fantasy, even if it means that she has to follow Jake’s strict rules. Jake has always been a lone wolf and has made it very clear to all the girls that have come on to him that he'll never have a serious long-term relationship, never commit to anyone. But Sophie will take anything he'll give her, even if it's just one night of amazing sex between them that should never be repeated even though they have an attraction to one another that is too hot to control. Then after they have their one night of passion together Sophie’s career is jeopardized and only Jake can help her out, so they agree to leave their night together behind them. However, lust stirs up between them again, and this time, it leaves Sophie spinning and Jake convinced that his obsession with her will bring nothing but pain for them both. This time, Sophie's faced with a deteriorating career and a breaking heart, and there is no one left to save her now that Jake has made up his mind that they could never have a serious relationship with each other.
The cover of this book caught my attention which then lead to me wanting to know what the story to this cover was. So I went to find the blurb of this novel so I could decide if it was right for me and I found that the blurb was just as intriguing as the cover. Elle Amery is a new author to me but after reading this novel I know that it definitely won’t be my last because she has hooked me on her writing. Sophie Huntsman is such a wonderful character that really hooked me from the beginning because she is so real with similar problems and issues that I know have happened to me or some of my own friends. I thought that is was so cute that she has had a big crush on her older brother’s friend Jake Muscat even though he didn’t know about it at the time. Jake Muscat is one deliciously hot guy who has personal issues that have been affecting his way of relating to the opposite sex in a more intimate way. I just fell in love with both Sophie and Jake as I read this novel because they both seem so right for each other from the beginning though they have a bit of a bumpy road to figure it out.
Once I started reading Saving Sophie I couldn’t stop reading it until I knew that Sophie and Jake would have their happy ending. I really loved all the other characters as well, such as Sophie’s best friends Grace and Tally. Grace is Jake’s younger sister and Tally is Wyatt’s younger sister so there were a lot of fun memories shared throughout the novel that added such emotion to this wonderful novel. I was a bit sad yet happy to finish this novel. I was sad to have come to the end of the novel but I was happy because I found out that this is the first book of Elle Amery’s Quartzton Series and that there were at least two more books to read about Sophie’s friends Grace in, Grace on Fire, and Tally in, Tally's Gift. Elle Amery delivered a hot, sexy and thrilling novel that will grab you from the start with witty characters and keep you reading until the very end to find out if the hero and heroine will get their happily ever after.

Well I have been reading a lot of books since I joined up to be a reviewer for the website Manic Readers and this is one of my many reviews for them. Today I'm going to be posting my review of Straight from the Hip which is an advance readers copy of the third book in Susan Mallery's new series Lone Star Sisters which I wrote for Manic Readers. I hope to soon be reviewing the last books in the series for Manic Readers soon and will be posting it here as well so keep an eye out for them.
* * * * *
Izzy has always been the fearless Titan sister but when an oil rig blows up, leaving her with only 30% of her vision, her sisters find themselves as concerned by her emotional withdrawal as by the possibility that the explosion was not just any accident. Are the mind games their long-lost brother Garth has been playing turning physical even though he has admitted to all the other misfortunes but this one? Or is someone else out to get them? When her sisters signed her up in a survivor training camp Izzy is not happy because Nick, her instructor, is determined that she won’t be left in the dark, in more ways than one. But if he tells her the terrible truth behind why he’s helping her, he’ll never see her again, unless they’re both willing to take the biggest risk of all. Letting themselves fall in love with one another with no restrictions and past baggage to interfere.
Under Her Skin is the first book in her Lone Star Sisters series, which will be officially be released in May 2009 with the second, Lip Service, and the third, Straight from the Hip, novels releasing in June and July 2009. Susan Mallery’s novels are wonderful reads because she always seems to come up with similar yet totally different novels with such compelling characters with intriguing issues. I like her series novels more than her stand alone novels but they are both very good reads in their own way. After reading and reviewing her first and second book in the series I was so looking forward to reading about the last sister’s love story. Reading the oldest Lexi Titan’s amazing love adventure with Cruz Rodrigues as well as the middle sister Skye Titan’s exciting love journey with former Navy SEAL Mitch Cassidy made me so excited about finally getting to read Izzy’s love story. Izzy Titan is the youngest of the three Titan sisters and in the first book seemed like the flaking and adventurous daughter who wanted nothing from her father unlike her older sister Skye. Jed is a man who was never there for Izzy or her sisters like a real father should have been while they were growing up. I like Izzy though at times I thought that she should finally grow up and settle down with a career that she’s really passionate about. Her relationship with her sisters is not as ideal as she would have liked but they seem very close to each other though Izzy, who is the wild child, seems to be a bit of a flake in the first two books seems to be growing up now. Skye and Izzy have the same mother and since she is the older of the two she controls the money that was left to them by their mother. Izzy’s struggle is to come to terms with her partial blindness since she has a childhood fear of the dark that still lives with her as adult.
Nick is just the perfect guy for Izzy because they both have personal past baggage that has really defined all of their relationships with the opposite sex. I thought that Nick was such a wonderfully sexy and strong man who could really use a wild and fun woman like Izzy in his life to shake things up. There were so much delightfully funny scenes mixed in with some lovely intimate scenes that I so enjoyed reading about between Izzy and Nick. I was also glad with all the progress the sisters have made with their relationships as sisters since the first novel in this great series. Reading about all the struggling that they were going through just to get their happily ever after was great fun and I knew that they would get there. Susan Mallery has delivered a wonderfully exhilarating story of the last of the Titan sisters to what I believe is one great new series that everyone should watch out for this year. Now there is one more novel in this series coming in November 2009 called Hot on Her Heels, which is about Dana the Titan sisters’ best friend and their older half-brother Garth. I’m very looking forward to reading that novel because it will give me the conclusion to the series and I am sure it will be amazing!

Skye Titan’s wealthy father, Jed Titan, thinks he can still control his daughter’s choice in men since he arranged her first marriage to a wealthy older man who she gave up her true love for. Now Skye is a widowed and single mother, who isn’t the gullible yes-girl she was before, especially since, Mitch, the love of her life is back in Texas after joining the Navy SEALs eight years ago when she broke his heart. Former Navy SEAL Mitch Cassidy comes home to find nearly everything different and his wounds from battle have changed the way people treat him and he finds out that his once cattle ranch is suddenly organic. This is a change that he is having a very hard time adjusting to besides his physical injury of losing part of his leg. But even after so many years apart it hasn’t touched his desire for his first and one true love Skye—or the sting of her betrayal and forget the lip service. Mitch won’t like the answers to the questions he’s asking about why she left him at the altar and about her eight-year-old daughter who he thinks might be his. He wants the truth from Skye’s own lips but is he going to be able to put the past aside to help Skye get out from under her father’s thumb and in the process help both Skye and himself recover from their past broken hearts?
Susan Mallery’s novels are wonderful to read because she always seems to come up with similar yet totally different novels with such compelling characters with intriguing issues. I like her series more than her stand alone novels but they are both very good reads in their own way. Under Her Skin is the first book in her Lone Star Sisters series, which will be officially be released in May 2009 with the second, Lip Service, and the third, Straight from the Hip, novels releasing in June and July 2009. After reading and reviewing her first book in the series I was so looking forward to reading about the next two sisters’ love stories. Reading the oldest Lexi Titan amazing love adventure with Cruz Rodrigues made me so excited about finally getting to read Sky’s love story. Skye Titan is the middle child of the three Titan sisters and in the first book seemed like the daughter who wanted nothing from her father but the love she thinks will keep her from becoming her mother. Jed is a man who was never there for Skye or her sisters like a real father should have been while they were growing up. I like Skye though at times I thought that she should finally see that she can’t always let her controlling father make her do everything he wants because it helped him with his career. Her relationship with her sisters is not as ideal as she would have liked but they seem very close to each other though the youngest, Izzy, who is the wild child, seems to be a bit of a flake. Skye and Izzy have the same mother and since she is the older of the two she controls the money that was left to them by their mother. Now reading about Skye’s past relationship with the love of her life was so much fun because it was only hinted about in the first book.
Mitch Cassidy is such a strong male character even though at the beginning he seemed like a bitter man who wanted to hurt everyone even those that loved him. I thought that though Skye and Mitch have a lot of baggage in their past with one another they can somehow find a way to make it work so they can finally be happy together. Mitch and Skye are wonderful characters that really kept me on my toes throughout the entire novel because they always did something I didn’t see coming. I also really loved the interaction between Mitch and Skye’s eight-year-old daughter Erin because I love to read about children in my romance novels since they add that bit of child fun to the novel. Reading about all the struggling that Skye and Mitch were going through just to get their happily ever after was great fun and I know that they will get there in the end. Susan Mallery has delivered an exciting and pleasurable continuation to what I believe is going to be one great new series that everyone should be watching out for this year.

Well I have been reading a lot of books since I joined up to be a reviewer for the website Manic Readers and this is one of my many reviews for them. Today I'm going to be posting my review of Where the Rain is Made by K. Celeste Bryan.
* * * * *
Francesca DuVall is a rebellious beauty who gets kidnapped along with her younger brother, Marsh, by the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers. Since the kidnapping Cesca spends every waking moment planning an escape for her brother but she never counted on falling in love with the man whose blazing sapphire eyes cause her to quiver with unrestrained passion but there is something she doesn’t know about this man. Ethan Gray is a curator at a famous museum...most of the time in the present that is and at other times, he’s Meko, a savage warrior plunged into the past to help his beloved people, the Cheyenne. Meko is a brutal, savage leader of the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers, who has been in many battles as he fights to save his people. Now that he has met Cesca he wants to win more than the mission he was sent into the past to win he wants to win Cesca’s heart forever. From the desolate plains of Colorado and the harsh life of a Cheyenne Dog Soldier to the good-natured life of a Native American Museum curator, their love was fueled by passion and ignited by destiny.
Where the Rain is Made is my first novel by K. Celeste Bryan but it definitely won’t be my last because she spins such a wonderful love story between two characters that may, at first, seem like opposites but are really meant for each other. I love reading historical romances and I’ve read my share of Native American based historicals but I hadn’t heard of the Dog Soldiers before I read this novel. Now that I have finished reading about them in this novel I wish there were more historical romance novels with them in it. Cesca and Meko are such wonderfully complex characters that I really had fun getting to know as the novel progressed. After the first couple of chapters I couldn’t sleep much until I found out what would happen for them since Meko isn’t from the same time period as Cesca. I won’t give any spoilers away but I really loved how things ended and I really hope that one day K. Celeste decides to write a sequel to this book because there is so much she could expand on. K. Celeste delivered an awe inspiring novel that made me appreciate the Native Americans and their way of life so much more and it is a definite keeper that everyone should give a try because they will be immediately hooked!

Lexi Titan can just see the headlines of the town’s newspaper as well as all the other newspapers out there. With all of Titanville, Texas, buzzing with the latest juicy gossip of a Titan, not that she has any other choice. Lexi is faced with exactly twenty-one days to come up with two million dollars in cold, hard cash and she is out of options or so she thought. Except now she has one option and that is to marry Cruz Rodrigues or lose everything—the chain of day spas she built herself. She could also lose her tyrant of a father’s respect as well as the long-standing competition with her sisters for the family business. The proposal is cold and hard when Cruz delivers it to Lexi at one of her sister’s foundation parties raising money for needy children. Cruz has money, success, smolderingly good looks—everything but the blue blood needed to become a true member of Texas society—that he can’t buy with all the money he has. So if Lexi agrees to be his fiancée for six months, lending him her famous father’s last name and his snobbish connections, he’ll hand her a check for two million dollars on the spot. And in six months they’ll go their separate ways, but neither one is prepared for their long-ago shared passion with each other when they were young to throw a big wrench into what would seem to be the perfect deal. I love Susan Mallery’s novels very much because she always seems to come up with similar yet totally different novels with such compelling characters with intriguing issues. I like her series more than her stand alone novels but they are both very good reads in their own way. Under Her Skin is the first book in her Lone Star Sisters series, which will be officially be released in May 2009 with the second, Lip Service, and the third, Straight from the Hip, releasing in June and July 2009. I look forward to reading about the next two sisters’ love stories. Lexi, which is short for Lexington is the oldest of the three Titan sisters and the one with the most to prove to her father, Jed Titan. The man who was never there for her or her sisters like a real father should. I like Lexi because she is such a real character that is independent, loving, caring and wants to succeed in the career of her choice not that of her fathers. Her relationship with her sisters is not as ideal as she would have liked but they seem very close to each other though the youngest, who is the wild child, seems to be a bit of a flake. Now Cruz is a hot guy who Lexi met when she was in college about 10 years ago and they had this connection that she had never felt before. Then they had one night of passion. Cruz could not handle it because it meant so much to the both of them—he was so scared he had to run from it. But as luck would have it after a decade Cruz needs Lexi’s family connections to help him achieve his new goal. Cruz has some very serious family issues that have really gotten in the way of his past relationships with women but it is really getting in the way of his relationship with Lexi now. They have something real with each other that I really loved reading about especially since their past relationship is what really brought them together again. Reading about the struggle that they went through just to get their happily ever after was great fun and I knew they will get there. Susan Mallery has delivered a fun and exciting beginning to what I believe is going to be one great new series that everyone should watch out for this year.

Well in my bio I mentioned that I joined up to be a reviewer for the website Manic Readers and this is one of my first reviews for them. I also reviewed an advance readers copy of the first book in Susan Mallery's new series Lone Star Sisters so keep an eye out for that review. This isn't my first Keta Diablo novel and it definitely won't be my last so check out my review of her novel Land of Falling Stars. Now for my review of her novel Decadent Deceptions that I wrote for Manic Readers.
* * * * *
Olivia Breedlove is very daring and desperate to win Morgan’s love, so she embarks on a reckless plan of madness that could very well cost her, her life! But everything backfires for Olivia when Morgan Gatewood remains one step ahead of her and the game ventures down a path of deception and murder that will keep the reader on their toes to find out who is behind it. A decade ago, Morgan was a heartbeat away from taking Olivia’s virginity but somehow her father, Thaddeus, happened to have been informed of what was about to happen. Thaddeus had invited Morgan to his office and threatened to meet him over pistols if he so much as looked at his daughter again. But that didn’t destroy the passion and growing love between Olivia and Morgan because it only grew with the years that passed by. But now, Thaddeus is dead and Morgan has no intention of ignoring the ravenous hunger he’s concealed from everyone for Olivia for the ten years they’ve been apart. One way or the other, he will satisfy this burning desire for her that has been there for most of his life and make her his forever. I’ve only recently gotten into reading erotic romance novels and this novel has really convinced me that it’s a genre that I will need to read more novels from. Keta Diablo has delivered an erotic and passionate historical romance filled with exciting and suspenseful scenes that kept me turning the pages. Olivia is a wonderfully independent and stubborn female character especially for those times though she is an impulsive woman when it comes to getting Morgan to love her. I thought Olivia was a perfect match for Morgan because he is also an independent and stubborn male character who doesn’t really care for what others say of him. He is as passionate as Olivia and though their own personalities sometimes clash but that doesn’t seem to stop the love that they share for one another. I enjoyed reading all the naughty things that Olivia does in order to get Morgan’s attention and confession that he loves her madly. In turn Morgan tries everything in his power to salvage Olivia’s reputation after she tells him of her outrageous plans to get a husband. Olivia's brother, Cain, and her best friend and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Lark, are secondary characters that I also enjoyed reading about because they really contributed to Olivia and Morgan’s getting to together to become an official married couple finally. Decadent Deceptions is one novel that I will be putting on my keeper shelf and will be reading it again and again.
